23611. Over 130 crore 39 lakh COVID vaccine doses administered in country so far; Recovery rate stands at 98.36 per cent
- Over 130 crore 39 lakh COVID vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far under Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
- more than 80 lakh 86 thousand doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
- Over 65 crore 19 lakh COVID tests have been conducted in the country so far. In the last 24 hours, more than 12 lakh 89 thousand tests were conducted.

- A total of seven lakh 29 thousand 477 gig and platform workers registered with eSHRAM portal.
- all eligible registered unorganized workers are entitled to get benefit of an accidental insurance cover of two lakh rupees for a year through Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
- a dedicated toll free helpline number 14434 has been set up in order to facilitate smooth registration on eSHRAM. He said, registration on eSHRAM portal is completely free and workers can also self-register through visiting the portal. They can also register through assisted mode which is available over four lakh Common Service Centre across the country.
23613. India to send 5 lakh Covid-19 vaccines to Sri Lanka as part of ‘Vaccine Maitri’
- India will despatch 500,000 doses of Covishield vaccines to Sri Lanka as grant assistance under its “Vaccine Maitri” initiative, which has already delivered nearly five million doses to seven countries in the neighbourhood.
- The Sri Lankan government has finalised its priority list of vulnerable groups, including healthcare workers and armed forces personnel, who will be first to receive the vaccine. Sri Lanka approved the emergency use of Covishield, which is the AstraZeneca vaccine, on January 23.
- Since the launch of the Vaccine Maitri (Vaccine Friendship) initiative on January 20, India has provided vaccines to Bhutan (150,000 doses), the Maldives (100,000 doses), Bangladesh (two million doses), Nepal (one million doses), Myanmar (1.5 million doses), Seychelles (50,000 doses), and Mauritius (100,000 doses).

23614. Sri Lanka to procure 2 to 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from India: Official
- The vaccination programme for which dry runs were made over the weekend will commence
- Sri Lanka will purchase 2 to 3 million doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from its Indian manufacturing company Serum Institute of India
- Lalith Weeratunga, the advisor to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa said that purchasing from India will follow Thursday’s arrival of India’s free vaccines to Sri Lanka.

- ड्रोन से खेतों में पानी और फ़र्टिलाइज़र का छिड़काव कर सकते हैं, जिससे कृषि में काफी मदद मिल सकती है और उत्पादन की मात्रा बढ़ सकती है। कृषि में ड्रोन के जरिये फसलों, पशुधन की निगरानी, सिंचाई प्रबंधन और अन्य चीज़ें शामिल हैं। वहीं ड्रोनफ्लाई का अनुमान है कि ड्रोन मैन्युअल रूप से 40-60 गुना तेजी से उर्वरक स्प्रे कर सकते हैं।
23616. India will export 3 million doses of vaccine to Saudi Arabia
- India will be exporting 3 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Saudi Arabia in about a week or ten days on behalf of the British pharmaceutical major which is facing production issues at its own factory in Belgium, as reported by Times of India.
- It is to be noted that India produces 60% of the world’s vaccines and countries wait with bated breath to receive it.
- Serum Institute of India Ltd. and Bharat Biotech International Ltd are all set to supply the vaccines.
23617. Saudi Arabia to get AstraZeneca shots in about a week from India
- The Serum Institute of India (SII) will supply Saudi Arabia with 3 million AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses priced at $5.25 each in about a week on behalf of the British drugmaker, its chief executive told Reuters
- SII, the world's biggest vaccine manufacturer, has partnered with AstraZeneca, the Gates Foundation and the Gavi vaccine alliance to make up to a billion doses for poorer countries.
- SII has no immediate plans, however, to divert supplies to Europe, even though AstraZeneca has come under pressure from the EU to deliver more shots after announcing a big cut in shipments due to production problems at a Belgian factory.
23618. Bangladesh Supplied COVID-19 vaccines to nine countries, will gradually send to COVAX facility: India at UN
- Bangladesh India has informed the UN Security Council that it will gradually supply vaccines to the COVAX facility of the World Health Organisation and undertake contractual supplies to various countries in a phased manner, as more than six million doses have been airlifted to nine countries under New Delhi’s “vaccine diplomacy.”
- India has assisted more than 150 countries through urgent health and medical supplies. New Delhi has pledged $15 million for GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and operationalised the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for its neighbours with an initial contribution of $10 million.
- Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives have received India’s COVID-19 vaccines under grant assistance in sync with its “Neighbourhood First” policy. India has begun commercial exports of COVID-19 vaccines and sent two million doses each to Brazil and Morocco.
23619. South Africa to get 1st batch of vaccine from India
- South Africa’s president Monday confirmed his country will soon receive its first consignment of COVID-19 vaccines from the Serum Institute in India, the world’s largest vaccine producer.
- first vaccines to arrive will be provided to healthcare workers.
- The second phase will include essential workers, teachers, the elderly and those with comorbidities, Ramaphosa said, adding: “The third phase will include other adults in the population.”

- India’s Mahinda Rajapaksa said India would be sending 500,000 vaccines to Sri Lanka and they will arrive on January 28
- Sri Lanka on Tuesday expressed appreciation and gratitude to India for sending 500,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine to the island country.
- Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa told the Cabinet that the Indian High Commissioner in Colombo informed that India would be sending 500,000 vaccines to Sri Lanka and they will arrive here on January 28.
