23351. Covid-19: Canada receives 500,000 doses of Covishield vaccine made in India
- The first Canada-bound shipment of Covid-19 vaccines manufactured in India arrived in Toronto.
- A commercial consignment of 500,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine under the brand Covishield was sent by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India (SII).
- It was received by its Canadian partner Verity Pharmaceuticals, located in the Greater Toronto Area town of Mississauga.
23352. Consignment of Made-in-India COVID-19 vaccines arrives in Rwanda
- A consignment of Made-in-India COVID-19 vaccines has landed in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda under the 'Vaccine Maitri' initiative, said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
- In a tweet, Jaishankar said, "Reaching out to Rwanda. Made in India vaccines land in Kigali. #VaccineMaitri."
- The Rwanda's Ministry of Health, Xinhua reported the country will kick off the vaccination exercise in hospitals and health centres.

23353. India delivers Made-in-India COVID-19 vaccines to Angola
- A consignment of Indian-made vaccines has been delivered to Angola under the 'Vaccine Maitri' initiative, said External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
- Jaishankar tweeetd, "Landed in Luanda. Made in India vaccines delivered to Angola today. #VaccineMaitri."
- Angola has reported 20,854 COVID-19 cases and 508 deaths so far, according to Johns Hopkins University.

23354. France changes tack, allows Astra vaccine for under-75s
- France will allow people under 75 with existing health problems to get the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the health minister said, departing from an earlier stance that the vaccine should be for the under-65s only.
- The reassessment is likely to help speed up France’s vaccination campaign which many have criticised as too slow.
- As 4.6 million people had received at least one shot of an AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccine
23355. Nigeria receives over 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine from India
- India Nigeria received 3.92 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine 'Covishield' from the Serum Institute of India (SII).
- Indian High Commissioner Abhay Thakur joined Nigerian dignitaries led by Minister of Health Dr E Osagie Ehanire, at the arrival ceremony of vaccines.
- "HC Abhay Thakur joined Nigerian dignitaries led by Minister of Health Dr E Osagie Ehanire, at the arrival ceremony of 3.92 million doses of Covishield vaccines from SII today. It is the first vaccine approved by Nigeria and one of our largest vaccine consignments," India in Nigeria tweeted.
23356. First shipment of Covishield vaccine arrives in Cambodia from India
- Cambodia received its first batch of 324,000 coronavirus vaccine doses from India that are part of the World Health Organization's COVAX initiative.
- Cambodia received its first shipment of 600,000 doses of a Chinese-produced vaccine on 7 February
- Cambodia has recorded 844 cases of the coronavirus, with no deaths
23357. India extends a helping hand to Madagascar yet again; Sends food and medical supplies
- Malaria medicine and 1000 tonnes of rice are heading to the Indian Ocean island country. In a report released last November, the World Food Organisation Southern Madagascar has been impacted by devastating famine. This has forced the families who don’t have food to eat are eating insects
- India has recently donated advanced digital cobalt therapy machine Bhabhatron-II which can treat almost 50 cancer patients every day. This was inaugurated by Madagascar’s President Andry Nirina Rajoelina, in the presence of Indian Ambassador Abhay Kumar and that country’s Health Minister.
- Last year in March, as has been reported by Financial Express Online, 600 tonnes of rice on board the Indian Navy ship INS Shardul reached the port of Antisiranana as HADR assistance to that country which was dealing with heavy floods.
- under Mission SAGAR-I, medical aid was sent to that country to deal with the COVID Pandemic. In January 2020, Indian Navy was the first to respond when Cyclone Diane struck Madagascar and immediate assistance was delivered under Operation Vanilla by INS Airavat.
23358. अमेरिका से लौटकर शुरू की प्राकृतिक खेती, परिवार से लड़कर भी बने किसान
- रजविंदर फिलहाल अपने 8 एकड़ जमीन पर न सिर्फ गन्ना, आलू, हल्दी, सरसों जैसे फसलों को प्राकृतिक तरीके से उगाते हैं, बल्कि इन फसलों को प्रोसेस कर गुड़, शक्कर और हल्दी पाउडर भी बनाते हैं। भारत लौटने के बाद अपना होटल बिजनेस शुरू किया। लेकिन मेरी ख्वाहिश खेती करने की थी और इसे लेकर मैंने पास के ही ‘किसान विरासत मिशन’ नाम के एक एनजीओ से खेती से जुड़ी जानकारियों को हासिल करना शुरू कर दिया। इसके अलावा, सोशल मीडिया के जरिए खेती करने वाले कई किसान दोस्तों से मिला और 2017 में अपनी 6 एकड़ जमीन पर पूरी तरह से प्राकृतिक खेती शुरू कर दी।”
- आठ एकड़ जमीन है। जो लोग पहले यहां खेती करते थे, वे रसायन का इस्तेमाल करते थे। मार्च में खेत खाली होने के बाद, अगस्त तक हमने इसमें सिर्फ हरी खाद दी और कोई फसल नहीं लगाया। ताकि हमारी खेत नैचुरल फार्मिंग के लिए तैयार हो सके। फिर, सितंबर 2017 में हमने इसमें गन्ना लगाया।”आज वह करीब पांच एकड़ में गन्ना की खेती करते हैं और खेतों की सीमाओं पर उन्होंने 3000 से अधिक फलदार पेड़ भी लगाए हैं।
- गन्ने को बेचते नहीं हैं, बल्कि खुद ही शक्कर और गुड़ बनाते हैं। इससे हमें अधिक फायदा होता है। हम चाय में इस्तेमाल होने वाले साधारण गुड़ बनाने के अलावा हल्दी, सौंफ, अजवाइन, तुलसी, ड्राइफ्रूट, आदि मिलाकर कई तरह के मसाला गुड़ भी बनाते हैं। रजविंदर बताते हैं कि वह अपना साधारण गुड़ प्रति किलो 110 रुपए में बेचते हैं, तो मसाला गुड़ 170 से 350 रुपए प्रति किलो तक बिकता है।
23359. बिहार: सरकारी स्कूल का कमाल, बनाई हवा से पानी निकालने की मशीन
- सूखे की समस्या को देखते हुए +2 जिला स्कूल, गया के शिक्षकों और बच्चों ने एक ऐसी मशीन बनाने का फैसला किया, जो हवा से पानी बनाने में सक्षम हो। भारत आज भयंकर सूखे का सामना कर रहा है। 2018 में आई नीति आयोग की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक आने वाले समय में दिल्ली, हैदराबाद बेंगलुरु, चेन्नई जैसे 21 शहरों के पास पीने के लिए अपना पानी नहीं होगा, जिससे 10 करोड़ से अधिक लोगों की जिंदगी प्रभावित होगी।
- इन्हीं चिन्ताओं को देखते हुए, बिहार के +2 जिला स्कूल, गया के शिक्षकों और बच्चों ने मिलकर, एक ऐसी मशीन बनाई है जो हवा से पानी बनाने में सक्षम है। उनके इस डिजाइन को पेटेंट भी हासिल हो गया है और वे इसे आम लोगों तक पहुंचाने की योजना बना रहे हैं। इस मशीन को ‘एयर वाटर जेनरेटर’ (Air Water Generator) नाम दिया गया है। यह प्रोजेक्ट 2019 में एटीएल मैराथन प्रतियोगिता में पहले स्थान पर भी रहा था और उन्हें राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद के हाथों सम्मानित किया गया था।
- स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल डॉ. सुदर्शन शर्मा ने द बेटर इंडिया को बताया, “गया एक पहाड़ी क्षेत्र है और यहां पानी की भारी किल्लत है। इस स्कूल में मेरी पोस्टिंग चार साल पहले हुई। फिर, अप्रैल 2018 में अटल इनोवेशन मिशन की शुरुआत हुई और हमें नीति आयोग से कुछ विषयों को चुनने के लिए कहा गया।” सितंबर 2018 में हुई एटीएल मैराथन प्रतियोगिता में उनके दोनों प्रोजेक्ट को टॉप-100 में चुन लिया गया था। लेकिन, ओस को संरक्षित कर पानी बनाने में उन्हें कुछ दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ सकता था। इसलिए वह एक ही प्रोजेक्ट के साथ आगे बढ़े।
23360. किसानों को मधुमक्खी पालन से जोड़ रहे हैं रायबरेली के नितिन सिंह, खड़ी कर चुके हैं बड़ी कंपनी
- उत्तर प्रदेश के रायबरेली के नितिन सिंह आज ना सिर्फ मधुमक्खियों का पालन कर रहे हैं बल्कि वे बड़ी संख्या में किसानों को मधुमक्खी पालन से जोड़कर उनकी आय को बढ़ाने का भी काम कर रहे हैं।
- नितिन इजरायल में तीन साल रहकर इस पर रिसर्च कर चुके हैं और साल 2015 में वे भारत वापस आ गए थे। भारत आकर नितिन ने मधुमक्खियों की कॉलोनी खरीदकर उनका पालन शुरू किया और आज उनकी कंपनी रॉयल हनी एंड बी फ़ार्मिंग सोसाइटी के पास 12 सौ से अधिक कॉलोनियां हैं। पाँच बक्सों की बात करें तो इसकी लागत उस किसान को करीब 30 हज़ार रुपये पड़ेगी। गौरतलब है कि मधुमक्खी पालन से जुड़ने के लिए किसान के लिए कृषि भूमि का होना अनिवार्य नहीं है।
- नितिन की कंपनी आज शहद के साथ ही साबुन, लिप बाम और मोमबत्ती जैसे उत्पादों को उत्तर प्रदेश के साथ ही पूरे भारत में सप्लाई करती है। नितिन के अनुसार उनकी कंपनी द्वारा तैयार किए गए उत्पाद पूरी तरह से शुद्ध होते हैं और उनके निर्माण में किसी भी तरह के रसायन का उपयोग नहीं किया जाता है।
