22991. EV charging stations: govt allows setting up of charging stations without licensing
- New EV norms let any individual set up a PCS (public charging station) without any license. Guidelines target a PCS in every 3 kms range for cities and a 25 kms range for highways. The private sector will get land at a bidding price of Rs 1 per unit revenue share per floor.
- The government of India has allowed any individual to set up a public charging station(PCS) without any license. The government and public agencies will be offered land at Rs 1 per unit over a 10 years revenue-sharing agreement. On the other hand, the private sector will get land at a bidding price of Rs 1 per unit revenue share per floor. The tariff of PCS has been capped to not exceed the 15 per cent average cost of supply till March 2025.
- The guidelines also target a PCS in every three-km range in cities and a PCS within a 25-km range on highways within the next 3-5 years. With this move, the government plans to lower the transportation carbon emission with COP26 commitment.

- Govind Jaiswal cleared the UPSC examination in 2006 at the age of 22 and secured All India Rank 48. But the hard work and struggle behind this success is an inspiration for every student.
- Govind's father became a rickshaw puller from a rickshaw owner for the sake of his son's studies. In spite of an ailment in the leg, Govind's studies were not hampered.
- Govind also put his hard work into studies and secured 48th rank in the first attempt of UPSC in 2006.
22993. Tata Power arm commissions 100 MW solar projects in Uttar Pradesh
- Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has commissioned two solar power projects of 50 MW each at Prayagraj and Banda in Uttar Pradesh.
- approximately 1,59,600 modules were used in the project at Prayagraj and the installation is expected to reduce 91,137 lakh tons of carbon emission every year.
- With the addition of this 100 MW capacity, the renewable capacity in operation for Tata Power has increased to 3,055 MW, with 2,123 MW of solar and 932 MW of wind. The company has another 1,854 MW of renewable projects under various stages of implementation.
22994. Apple, Samsung Could Make In India Smartphones Worth Over ₹37,000 Crore This Year
- Smartphone makers Apple and Samsung are expected to make phones worth $5 billion (over Rs 37,000) crores in the FY2022 under the government’s PLI scheme, going past the target of 50 percent set by the central government, according to government officials and industry executives.
- Apple’s second-largest global manufacturer after Foxconn, Pegatron, is expected to commence manufacturing in India in the coming months. Bharat FIH, on the other hand, is only making smartphones for Xiaomi. Since the company mostly makes phones of less than Rs 15,000 per unit, the company doesn't qualify for incentives under the PLI scheme.
- The threshold is Rs 4,000 crores for the first year, Rs 8,000 crores in the second, Rs 15,000 crores in the third, Rs 20,000 crores in the fourth and Rs 25,000 crore in the fifth year.

22996. Tata Motors to drive in 50,000 EVs in FY23: Reports
- Tata Motors plans to produce 50,000 electric vehicles (EVs) in the upcoming financial year starting April,
- The auto major told vendors it would ramp up annual production to 125,000-150,000 EVs in the next two years, The Economic Times reported quoting sources.
- If the company achieves 50,000 units in FY23, the share of EVs would rise to 12 percent of its total targeted volumes.
22997. Indian Railways Green target: Check out the progress made on 100% electrification mission
- The Railway Ministry plans for 100 per cent electrification across the Indian Railways network. According to the Ministry of Finance, India aims to be the world’s first 100 per cent green railway with net zero emission by the year 2030.
- , in the previous Union Budget, had stated complete electrification of the rail network, the ministry claimed that environment-friendly electrification of the Indian Railways in the country has increased nearly ten times since the year 2014.

22998. Russian co starts manufacturing N-reactor for last unit of Kudankulam N-plant
- Giving a leg-up to the construction work at the Kudankulam nuclear plant project, Atommash-AEM-Technologies, a part of machine-building division of Russian atomic energy corporation Rosatom, has started manufacturing a nuclear reactor and steam generators for unit No. 6 of the plant in Tamil Nadu
- The reactor and steam generator shells have passed the inspection and items are at initial operations of the manufacturing cycle. Construction on the last unit (No. 6) was officially launched last December.
- The first power unit of the Kudankulam plant has been steadily operating at the design capacity level of 1,000 MW since February 2016. The second unit was included in the national grid of the country in August 2016
22999. Pune: Tech startup initiative ‘Covid Helpdesk’ provides solutions through chatbot service
- Mumbai-based tech startup Machadalo has come up with a Covid-19 information service that functions in the form of a WhatsApp chatbot. Named ‘Covid Helpdesk’, the service provides solutions in about 540 of the 742 districts in the country,
- Users can communicate with the chatbot on WhatsApp by initiating a conversation with the number 7208880208. It provides the user with a menu from which a particular category of information and a city could be chosen.
- It also lists out examples of queries like oxygen cylinders in Guwahati, beds in Mysore, doctors in Maharashtra and so on.
23000. Centre announces loan guarantee scheme for health infrastructure
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the allocation of Rs 23,220 crore will be used to enhance human resource capabilities by funding for recruitment of medical and nursing students along with increasing the availability of ICU beds, oxygen supply at central, district and subdistrict level.
- The additional allocation will also finance equipment, medicines, access to teleconsultation, ambulance services.
- In addition to child care, these funds will also be used to increase testing capacity and supportive diagnostics, and strengthen the capacity for surveillance and genome sequencing.
