1201. MP CM transfers Rs 20.6 crore relief fund to farmers for crops damaged by excessive rains, floods
- On September 6, 2025, Madhya Pradesh CM M virtually interacted with flood-affected farmers and transferred ₹20.6 crore relief to 17,500 farmers across 11 districts, reaffirming the government’s commitment to sensitive governance and timely assistance.
- CM emphasised farmers’ welfare as a top priority, noting BJP and PM's support. Using direct transfers, his government provided ₹30 crore earlier in August, reaching a total of ₹188.52 crore relief distributed in FY 2025–26 so far.
- CM assured farmers of continuous government support, encouraging them to return to fields with renewed strength. He acknowledged that while money cannot fully offset losses, it shares farmers’ pain and strengthens trust between them and the government during crises.

1202. India’s food processing sector to touch $535 billion by FY26, growing over 7 pc

- India’s organic food market — currently valued at $1.9 billion — is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.13 per cent to $10.8 billion by 2033. Meanwhile, the food ingredients segment is growing at 7–8 per cent annually.

1203. EU ban on Russian fuel: India's diesel exports to Europe surge 137% in Aug
- On 5 september, 2025 It was reported that, In August 2025, India’s diesel exports to Europe surged 137% Y-o-Y to 242,000 bpd, ahead of the EU’s January 2026 ban on fuels refined from Russian crude. Exports also rose 73% month-on-month, signaling strong European demand.
- According to Kpler and Vortexa, the surge was driven by unplanned refinery maintenance, winter demand expectations, and market preparation before EU sanctions. Indian refiners capitalized on discounted Russian crude, processing and exporting fuels to Europe despite criticism from US officials.
- The US accused India of profiteering and imposed 50% tariffs on Indian goods to curb Russian oil revenue flows. India defended imports as vital for energy security, noting that other nations also buy Russian oil. European demand remains robust through 2025.

1204. Tripura Government Releases Rs. 10 Crore from CM’s Relief Fund for Flood Victims
- On September 5, 2025 in Agartala The state government has released Rs. 10 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support ongoing disaster relief efforts. The fund has been handed over to the Revenue Department for distribution among those affected by last year’s devastating floods.
- The fourth installment from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has been released, taking the total post-flood relief disbursal to Rs. 35 crore.
- The mid-August deluge of last year left a trail of destruction, claiming 24 lives, damaging infrastructure and property worth over Rs. 15,000 crore, and affecting nearly 17 lakh people across the state.

1205. State government allocates ₹2,126 crore for metro connectivity to Parandur airport
- On 5 september, 2025 It was reported that , The Tamil Nadu government sanctioned ₹2,126 crore for preparatory work on metro rail connectivity to the proposed greenfield airport at Parandur, Chennai. Phase I will extend the elevated corridor up to Sunguvarchatram, covering 28 km with 14 stations.
- The corridor, planned by Aarvee Associates, will be built in two phases. Phase I links Poonamallee to Sunguvarchatram, integrating with Corridor 4 and existing/under-construction lines. Land acquisition (₹1,836 crore) and preliminary civil work (₹252 crore) are the initial steps.
- The total 53-km corridor will have 20 stations, support speeds up to 80–100 kmph, and connect key locations like Sriperumbudur and Kuthambakkam bus terminus. Estimated cost is ₹15,906 crore, with Phase I at ₹8,779 crore, integrated with NHAI’s elevated corridor.
1206. Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways inaugurates green hydrogen pilot plant
- On September 5, 2025, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways inaugurated a green hydrogen pilot plant and laid foundation stones for multiple projects at V O Chidambaranar (VOC) Port, Tamil Nadu, under the Sagarmala programme to boost maritime infrastructure and coastal livelihoods.
- The projects, driven by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, include fishing harbours at Koonthookal, Pompuhar, Sinamoton, and Mukaiyard. The National Technology Centre at IIT Chennai provides engineering solutions, while the Maritime Hackathon 2025 promotes innovation and collaboration in the sector.
- Plans include developing the Eastern Maritime Corridor to Vladivostok via Chennai, enhancing cruise tourism with a Tamil Nadu–Sri Lanka circuit, and upgrading passenger terminals. Sonowal also paid tribute to freedom fighter V O Chidambaranar for pioneering “swadeshi shipping” in India.
1207. Railways ministry approves ₹118-crore ROB near Katihar Junction
- On 5 september, 2025 It was reported that, The Ministry of Railways approved a ₹118 crore road over bridge (ROB) at Mukuria near Katihar Junction under Northeast Frontier Railway. The ROB will replace a level crossing on NH-31 and SH-98, easing long-standing commuter congestion.
- The project will be executed as a joint venture between the Railways and state authorities. Railway officials said it will enhance road safety for motorists and pedestrians, while also improving traffic flow on two major highways near Katihar.
- Work is expected to begin soon, with project planning and tendering already underway. The ROB aligns with the central government’s infrastructure push, focusing on modernizing transport systems and decongesting critical routes in Bihar’s transport network.
1208. H1 2025: Global Solar Additions Hit 380 GW, India Sees 49% Growth, Says EMBER

1209. Afghanistan earthquake: India sends 21 tonnes of aid to Kabul, EAM shares photo
- India airlifted 21 tonnes of humanitarian assistance to earthquake-hit Afghanistan on 2 September 2025 after a powerful Sunday night quake killed over 1,400 citizens.External Affairs Minister announced on X, "Indian earthquake assistance reaches Kabul by air."
- The consignment included a wide range of relief materials such as blankets, tents, hygiene kits, water storage tanks, generators, and essential medicines.
- Earthquake of magnitude 6.0 quake has injured over 3,000 people, with most casualties reported in Kunar province.

1210. Tripura: 29 MW Solar Power Generated Since 2018, Target Set for 150 MW; Consumers Rise from 7.21 Lakh to 10.38 Lakh
- On September 03, 2025 , Tripura Power Minister inaugurated a 132 kV substation at Manu in Dhalai district. The facility will benefit over 21,500 families and supports the state’s plan to expand solar power across government offices.
- The Minister highlighted Tripura’s power growth: solar capacity rose from 3 MW in 2018 to 29 MW today, with a target of 150 MW via solar panels for 50,000 houses and 10 lakh consumers over two years.
- Since 2018, consumer base rose from 7.21 lakh to 10.38 lakh; 132 kV substations increased from 12 to 20, 33 kV from 44 to 75, and underground cabling from 95 km to 571 km. The focus is on sustainable solar energy and uninterrupted supply.
