23731. Ladakh: Umla becomes 12th village of Leh to get water supply in each household
- Umla became the 12th village of Leh that has tap water supply in each of its 25-odd households even in sub-zero temperature under Jal Jeevan Mission.
- A villager said, "Earlier during winters, we had no option but to fetch water from streams by breaking ice layer. Now, we have heard that administered has dug up almost 8 feet to extract water. We have heard that the deeper we go under the ground, the water remains warmer."
- Another villager said, "It was very difficult during winter. Earlier, during winters, the snow would be around 4 feet. All the water taps in the village would be covered with snow, so we had to go to streams to fetch water." (ANI)
23732. Tripura : Indo-Bangla Internet Link Commissioned For Northeast Regions
- The new internet link of 10 GBPS between India and Bangladesh has been commissioned successfully. This commissioning would boost-up the internet and technology sector impressively along Tripura and other North eastern states of India
- The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had placed an order to Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) for provisioning of one 10GB internet gateway link from Cox-Bazar (Bangladesh) to Akhaura (India) on a lease of three years.
- The technical observation, monitoring and testing was done in accordance with the criteria mentioned in the Agreement dated September 7 last between BSNL and BSCCL and also as per the pre-decided terms and conditions.

23734. More than 700 artisans, craftsmen participated in 35th edition of Hunar Haat in New Delhi
- more than 700 artisans, craftsmen from over 30 States and Union Territories of the country participated in the 35th edition of Hunar Haat organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi with the theme Vocal for Local and 'Swadeshi Se Swavlamban'.
- Hunar Haat is a Perfect Platform of Protection, Preservation, Promotion of Indian legacy of art and craft
- more than seven lakh 50 thousand artisans, craftsmen and people associated with them have been provided employment and self-employment opportunities through Hunar Haat in the last about six years. More than 50 per cent of them are women artisans. He added, Hunar Haat will be organized in different cities of the country in the coming days.

- Noida-based Uznaka Solutions manufactures Electric Vehicle (EV) charging equipment, sets up EV stations for clients and supports e-mobility services.
- The biggest motivation for the founder was to come up with his own technology for EV charging and not follow the suit of “borrowing the design and product from global companies and rebrand it to sell to the Indian audience”. Uznaka manufactures and sells mainly two types of EV charges -- Bharat AC 001 that can be used to charge two-wheelers and three-wheelers, and AC Type 2 for cars.
- Uznaka has an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $50,000 and is currently valued at $6 million.

- In Tier II and III cities, people want to build houses and they have the monetary bandwidth to do so. But due to lack of contacts in trained architects or engineers, they end up working with traditional contractors, who mostly modify existing designs and provide something that is not always architecturally sustainable. People end up spending much more, and also do not have a high-quality product
- The firm has currently completed 3,000 to 4,000 interior designing projects, with close to 50 projects every month. MakeMyHouse also focuses on architectural designing of individual houses constructed from the ground up, and has seen over 500 customers on average every month. Overall, the firm has worked with over 12,000 customers till date.

23739. Bangladesh receives first COVID-19 vaccine consignment from India
- Bangladesh has so far purchased 30 million doses from the Serum Institute of India through private Beximco pharmaceuticals under a tripartite agreement.
- Bangladesh received the first consignment of the 5 million doses of Covishield vaccines from India under a procurement agreement, four days after New Delhi gifted 2 million doses of the vaccine to Dhaka.
- Bangladesh is expected to get 50 lakh of vaccines every month from India in the coming months, Health minister Zahid Maleque said earlier.

- India’s vaccine diplomacy puts China on the back foot in South Asia, Chinese government mouthpiece Global Times has sought to mount a smear campaign to try and discredit the Indian initiative.
- India has already gifted the Covishield vaccine manufactured locally by Serum Institute of India to all Saarc countries except Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Pakistan
