23171. Union Railway Minister Launches Train Between Gomtinagar and Kamakhya
- A special train running between Gomtinagar in Uttar Pradesh and Kamakhya in Assam has been launched in order to enhance connectivity to the north-east.
- This train will pass through Gorakhpur (UP), Barauni (Bihar), New Jalpaiguri (West Bengal), New Bongaigaon (Assam) and Goalpara (Assam) during its two-way journey.
- Earlier, the Indian Railways had launched two new Vistadome Express trains between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on December 19 to boost connectivity and tourism between several regions north-eastern India.
23172. Centre okays Rs 12,031 crore scheme for big push to green energy in 7 states
- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the Rs 12,031 crore scheme on Green Energy Corridor Phase-II for Intra-State Transmission Systems that will lead to the addition of 10,750 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 27,500 Mega Volt-Amperes transformation capacity of substations, according to an official statement.
- The scheme will facilitate grid integration and power evacuation of approximately 20 GW of renewable energy power projects in the seven states of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
- The scheme is targeted to be set up with a total estimated cost of Rs. 12,031.33 crore and Central Financial Assistance (CFA) @ 33 percent of the project cost which works out to Rs. 3970.34 crore, the statement explained. .
23173. Dragon Fruit cultivation gives good yield in AP
- The enterprising farmers in Andhra Pradesh have taken up cultivation of Dragon Fruit crop from last year and the yields are encouraging to the farmers. The fruit is cultivated in seven districts and chief minister Jagan gave a target of 200 hectares for this cultivation in the state.
- The farmers have to construct cement or rock pillars in the fields to cultivate the creeper-like crop. Some 400 such pillars are needed per acre and four saplings have to be planted to each pillar. Horticulture deputy director for West Godavari Dr Panduranga said a subsidy of Rs 35,000 per hectare is being given to the farmers for this purpose by the state government.
- According to the farmers, an investment of Rs 6 lakh is required per acre initially, but the yield will continue for upto 20 years.
23174. Bhubaneswar: Tapaswini Express gets Rajdhani-like LHB coaches
- In order to provide enhanced safety and comfortable ride, Indian Railways on Thursday replaced the conventional coaches of 18452/18451 Puri-Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Express with modern Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches.
- Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw flagged off the Puri-Hatia-Puri Tapaswini Express with Rajdhani-like coaches through video conferencing from Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
- According to Railways, the Development works for second entry will have facilities like Parking for two/three/four wheelers, pickup and drop point, parking for ambulance, VIP vehicles, etc, including a wider approach road.
23175. भारत में मीठी क्रांति: कोरोनाकाल में लोगों को चढ़ा शहद का स्वाद, 716 करोड़ का एक्सपोर्ट, वर्ल्ड में 9वां नंबर
- शहद कोरोना संक्रमण के विरुद्ध इम्यूनिटी पावर देता है। इसलिए दुनियाभर में शक्कर के बजाय इसका सेवन बढ़ गया है। भारत दुनिया में 9वां सबसे बड़ा निर्यातक देश है। पिछले साल देश ने 716 करोड़ रुपए का शहद निर्यात(export) किया था। अब इसका प्रॉडक्शन बढ़ाने कई योजनाओं पर काम हो रहा है।
- 2020 में विश्व भर में 736,266.02 एमटी का शहद निर्यात किया गया। शहद के उत्पादक तथा निर्यातक देशों में भारत का स्थान क्रमश 8वां और 9वां है। वर्ष 2019 में विश्व शहद उत्पादन 1721 हजार मीट्रिक टन का रहा था। इसमें सभी पराग संबंधित स्रोतों, जंगली फूलों तथा जंगल के वृ़क्षों से प्राप्त शहद शामिल है। चीन, तुर्की, ईरान और अमेरिका विश्व के प्रमुख शहद उत्पादक देशों में शामिल हैं जिनकी कुल विश्व उत्पादन में 50 प्रतिशत की हिस्सेदारी है।
- भारत ने वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 के दौरान 716 करोड़ रुपये (96.77 मिलियन डॉलर) के बराबर के 59,999 मीट्रिक टन (एमटी) प्राकृतिक शहद का निर्यात किया 44,881 एमटी के साथ जिसमें अमेरिका की प्रमुख हिस्सेदारी रही। सऊदी अरब, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, बांग्लादेश तथा कनाडा भारतीय शहद के लिए अन्य शीर्ष गंतव्य रहे। भारत ने अपना पहला संगठित निर्यात वर्ष 1996-97 में आरंभ किया।

23176. Indian Navy to conduct flight test of Rafale M fighter aircraft today
- Four fighter jets are in contention for the deal which included Rafale (Dassault, France), F-18 Super Hornet (Boeing, US), MIG-29K (Russia) and Gripen (Saab, Sweden)
- In 2017, the Indian Navy had issued a Request for Information (RFI) to procure 57 multi-role combat aircraft for its aircraft carrier. (AP)
- Indian Navy will start testing the Rafale-M(Marine) for using on its aircraft carriers. The test of the Rafale fighter aircraft will take place at the INS Hansa in Goa which is a shore-based test facility.

23178. HAL's Intermediate Jet Trainer completes six-turn spins: All you need to know about aircraft
- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s Intermediate Jet Trainer completed a significant milestone on Thursday when it demonstrated the capability to carry out six turn spins to the left-hand and right-hand sides.
- The Intermediate Jet Trainer, designed and developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, was conceived to provide stage II training of IAF pilots.
- The IJT programme in its modern avatar was given the go-ahead in 1999, and the first prototype took to the skies in less than four years. It will replace the ageing Kirans of the IAF fleet. Flight testing of the IJT resumed in April 2019 and stall and spin testing of the IJT in its new modified configuration began in November 2020.
- HAL's Director {Engineering and R&D}, Arup Chatterjee said that by demonstrating its capability to have six turn spins on both sides the IJT has achieved a major milestone. He hoped that with the completion of spin certification of HTT-40 and the progress achieved in IJT, HAL will soon have state-of-the-art trainers for stage I and II training of IAF pilots.

23180. गरीब बच्चों को शिक्षा मिल सके इसके लिए खुले आसमान में शुरू की क्लास, आज 60 से अधिक छात्र हो रहे हैं शिक्षित
- हमारे देश में शिक्षा एक मूलभूत अधिकार है, हालांकि गरीबी व अन्य पारिवारिक परिस्थितियों के चलते आज भी बड़ी संख्या में बच्चे बुनियादी शिक्षा से भी वंचित रह जाते हैं। ऐसे में गरीब बच्चों को भी शिक्षा का बराबर मौका मिल सके इसके लिए रांची के एक शिक्षक ने बड़ी ही सराहनीय पहल शुरू की है।
- कोरोना महामारी के बाद बनी परिस्थितियों और लागू हुए लॉकडाउन के चलते देश भर के स्कूलों में पढ़ाई ऑनलाइन मोड पर चली गई है, ऐसे में जिन गरीब बच्चों की कम्यूटर या स्मार्टफोन तक पहुंच नहीं है उनके लिए इस दौरान अपनी पढ़ाई को सुचारु रूप से जारी रखना एक बड़ी चुनौती साबित हो रही है। इसी समस्या को हल करने का प्रयास करते हुए जिले के एक उर्दू प्राइमरी स्कूल के प्रधानाचार्य आज गरीब परिवारों से आए बच्चों के लिए ईदगाह मैदान पर ही कक्षाओं का संचालन कर रहे हैं।
- नसीम अहमद ने बताया है कि जिन बच्चों के पास स्मार्ट फोन नहीं है या जिनके पास केवल एक स्मार्ट फोन है, उन्हें ईदगाह मैदान में कक्षाओं के लिए बुलाया जाता है। आज केजी से लेकर कक्षा 5 तक के छात्रों के लिए अलग-अलग बैचों में तीन घंटे के लिए कक्षाएं संचालित की जाती हैं। गौरतलब है कि इन कक्षाओं के संचालन के दौरान भी कोविड प्रोटोकॉल का पूरी तरह से पालन किया जाता है।
