1141. PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone Of India's First PM MITRA Park In Madhya Pradesh
- On September 17, 2025, Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for India’s first Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
- The park, spread over 2,158 acres in Bhainsola village, will feature a solar power plant, effluent treatment plant, modern infrastructure, housing, and social facilities. Leading textile companies have already pledged investments of ₹23,146 crore, supporting cotton producers and workers.
- The PM MITRA scheme has been launched by the Centre to establish large-scale textile manufacturing hubs at seven places in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra with world-class infrastructure and facilities, a government statement said.

1142. Gujarat adds record 6,632MW of green power in five months
- On 17 september, 2025, It was reported that, Between April and August 2025, Gujarat commissioned 6,632MW of renewable energy, nearly equaling the previous fiscal’s total. By August 31, 2025, installed RE capacity reached 39,275.7MW, positioning Gujarat as India’s frontrunner in green power.
- According to the data from the Union ministry of new and renewable energy, Gujarat's installed RE capacity stood at 25,471.7MW on March 31, 2024, rising to 33,393MW by March 31, 2025, a net addition of 7,921MW over 12 months.
- Falling costs from local manufacturing, revenue reforms, and increased rooftop solar adoption boosted affordability and large-scale deployment, creating a benchmark for other states.
1143. ISRO chief Narayanan opens spacetech startup OrbitAID’s R&D facility in Bengaluru
- On 17 september, 2025 ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan inaugurated OrbitAID Aerospace’s $2 million (₹18 crore) R&D facility in Bengaluru. Spanning 6,500 sq. ft, it will focus on lifetime refueling and servicing of satellites through advanced space technologies.
- OrbitAID, a spacetech startup backed by Unicorn India Ventures, specialises in on-orbit servicing and refueling (OOSR). Using RPOD infrastructure, cleanrooms, and fuel transfer systems, it will develop docking and refueling interfaces to extend satellite lifespans in India and abroad.
- The facility, India’s largest commercial RPOD hub, operates at TRL 7 readiness. OrbitAID plans to establish India’s first private propellant handling and satellite servicing hub in Tamil Nadu, while enhancing collaborations with universities, startups, and global partners for circular space economy growth.
1144. AIIMS in J&K’s Awantipora expected to be complete by Nov 2025.
- The construction work on the AIIMS at Awantipora in Kashmir’s Pulwama district is expected to be complete by November, 2025, according to the UT government.
- The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Awantipora in Kashmir, sanctioned in 2019 with an estimated cost of ₹1,828 crore, is being developed with 57 buildings comprising hospital blocks, academic complexes, hostels, and residential facilities.
- As of late 2024, approximately 70–75% of the construction work at AIIMS Awantipora had been completed, covering major structural components such as the hospital blocks, academic buildings, hostels, and staff residences.

1145. A Healthcare Milestone: CGHS Wellness Centre to Benefit Ladakh’s Central Government Employees.
- The much-anticipated Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre in Ladakh, various points regarding CGHS were discussed. This initiative marks a significant leap forward in improving healthcare facilities in the region and enhancing the welfare of Central Government employees.
- On June 1, 2023, the process to establish one CGHS Wellness Centre in Leh, Ladakh officially began, and by that date 4,215 beneficiaries had already registered bringing the initiative notably closer to the Ministry’s requirement of 6,000 enrollees for approval and launch.

1146. State Cancer Institute, Jammu
- The growing number of cancer patients in the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, the then Union Government in the year 2014-2015 had announced establishment of two State Cancer Institutes (SCIs) in J&K.
- One at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura in Srinagar and another at Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu at a cost of Rs 120 crore each.
- On February 4, 2023, the State Cancer Institute at Government Medical College, Jammu, a 100-bed facility approved with a ₹120 crore budget during 2014-15, began its OPD services on World Cancer Day, marking the official launch of cancer care services in Jammu.
- Earlier, in 2019, the State Cancer Institute at SKIMS, Soura (Srinagar) also sanctioned in 2014-15 became fully functional, providing comprehensive oncology services including radiotherapy, medical oncology, and daycare care for cancer patients,

1147. PM inaugrates Aiims Jammu, says people can now get treatment in state
- Prime Minister on 20 February 2025, inaugurated the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here, saying the people of Jammu will no longer have to leave for Delhi to avail specialised medical treatment.
- The hospital, sprawling across 226.84 acres along National Highway 44 in Vijaypur area of Samba district, was established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to address regional healthcare imbalances, encourage evidence-based research and elevate medical education standards.
- Addressing a public rally after launching and laying foundation stone of projects worth over Rs 32,000 crore, the number of medical colleges in J&K has increased from four to 12 in the last 10 years.

- The projects under Prime Minister-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) & COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package Phase-II will make crucial & standard health facilities available to all the citizens”.
- The projects worth Rs 207.75 crore under Prime Minister-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) include 100-bedded Critical Care Blocks each at GMC Jammu and District Hospital Budgam; 50 Bedded Critical Care Block at GMC Baramulla, GMC Rajouri, GMC Kathua, SKIMS Bemina and District Hospital Kulgam.
- The Critical Care Blocks under COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package Phase-II (ECRP-II) to be constructed at Rs 142.5 crore are 50-bedded Critical Care Blocks each at District Hospitals Pulwama, Kupwara, Reasi, Shopian, Poonch and PHC Sonamarg, Ganderbal.

1150. India signs MoU with ILO to align ‘Occupational Classification’ for global employment opportunities
- The Union government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to advance the International Reference Classification of Occupations (IRCO). Labour Ministry said on 16 September, 2025.
- The agreement aims to help Indian youth access global job markets by aligning domestic occupational data with international standards.
- The initiative gains further relevance amid rising global concerns over skill shortages, especially in ageing economies facing demographic challenges and rapid digitalisation.
