1001. Goa launches new startup policy to create 1,000 ventures, generate 10,000 jobs
- On 3 October 2025, The Goa government launched the Goa Startup Policy 2025 last week to establish 1,000 startups, generate 10,000 jobs for Goans, and support women entrepreneurs, aiming to transform the coastal state into India’s “creative capital” by 2028.
- Implemented by the Department of State IT, Electronics and Communication (DITEC), the policy connects startups with venture funds, incubators, corporates, and academic institutions. It introduces schemes for campus innovation, skill enhancement in AI, and mentorship with financial aid for women entrepreneurs.
- With 696 DPIIT-recognised startups already active, the policy will support 100 startups in accessing venture funding, collaborate with 50 startups, and promote innovation hubs and IT labs strengthening Goa’s ecosystem for technology, creativity, and employment-driven entrepreneurship.
1002. Airbus partners with Tata for Make in India choppers, to roll out by 2027
- On 3 October, 2025, Airbus Helicopters, in partnership with Tata Advanced Systems, is establishing a final assembly line for the H125 utility helicopter in Karnataka under the Make in India initiative. The first ‘Made in India’ H125 is expected by early 2027, with regional exports planned.
- Tata Advanced Systems will handle assembly, integration, and testing of H125 helicopters, including structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. Airbus and Tata aim to offer both civil and military (H125M) versions with high levels of indigenised components and technologies.
- The H125, part of Airbus’ Ecureuil family, is capable of extreme high-altitude operations, including Mount Everest landings. The helicopters will support emergency medical services, disaster relief, tourism, and law enforcement, strengthening India’s civil and defence aviation capabilities.
1003. Goodluck India signs tripartite agreement to bid for DRDO’s aircraft programme
- On 3 October,2025, Goodluck India announced a tripartite agreement with BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvananthapuram Ltd (BATL) and Axiscades Technologies to jointly bid for DRDO’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, aiming to develop a fifth-generation stealth fighter in India.
- Goodluck India, a special steel and defence manufacturer, will leverage its expertise in defence-grade manufacturing and engineering. The partnership aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, combining the strengths of all three companies for India’s strategic indigenous defence programme.
- Goodluck Defence, a subsidiary, has received an industrial license to produce medium-calibre artillery shells. With six facilities in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat and expertise in high-end forgings and precision steel products, the company aims to strengthen India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
1004. India’s Renewable Energy Additions Surge 123% To 20.1 GW In FY26
- On 3 October, 2025 It was reported that, India’s renewable energy sector added a record 20.1 GW of new capacity in the first five months of fiscal 2026, a 123% year-on-year rise, and is on track to surpass 35 GW for the full year, driven by strong demand and favourable market conditions.
- According to ratings agency Icra, the growth is supported by a 142.8 GW project pipeline, GST cuts on solar and wind equipment, declining battery storage tariffs, and increasing commercial and industrial electricity demand, despite delays in Power Sale Agreements and auctions.
- The sector’s expansion is bolstered by policy support, competitive tariffs, hybrid storage adoption, and resilience of project credit profiles. Challenges include US tariffs on Indian solar exports and ALMM regime impacts, but the outlook remains stable for meeting India’s renewable targets.
1005. Govt Clears Rs 1,500 Cr Biomedical Research Career Programme Phase III
- The Union Cabinet approved Phase III of the Biomedical Research Career Programme (BRCP) on 1 October, 2025, a six-year initiative starting 2025-26 in India, aimed at nurturing scientific talent, training over 2,000 fellows, and promoting biomedical technology commercialization nationwide.
- The Department of Biotechnology, in partnership with the Wellcome Trust UK via India Alliance, will implement the programme with a total outlay of Rs 1,500 crore Rs 1,000 crore from the Department and Rs 500 crore from the Wellcome Trust.
- Phase III focuses on early-career and intermediate fellowships, collaborative grants, mentoring, and international networking, aiming for high-impact research, patents, women researchers’ support, reducing regional disparities, and building globally relevant world-class biomedical research capacity in India.
1006. Government Sets Up 550 Cotton Procurement Centres, Ensuring Accessibility For Farmers & Logistical Efficiency
- On 3 October, 2025 The Ministry of Textiles has operationalized 550 cotton procurement centres across all 11 cotton-growing regions, the highest ever, to ensure efficient, farmer-friendly operations during the Kharif Cotton Season 2025–26.
- The ‘Kapas-Kisaan’ app enables farmer registration, slot booking, and real-time payment tracking. Aadhaar-linked bank payments, SMS alerts, WhatsApp helplines, and Local Monitoring Committees ensure transparency, awareness, and grievance resolution, preventing distress sales.
- The government reiterated its commitment to full digitisation and financial inclusion. Payments will be made directly to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts via NACH, with SMS alerts sent at every stage — from bill generation to payment confirmation.
1007. Union Cabinet Approves ₹6,957 Crore NH-715 Widening & Elevated Corridor In Assam To Boost Eco-Tourism, Ensure Wildlife Safety, & Create Jobs
- On October 02, 2025, the Union Cabinet approved widening NH-715’s Kaliabor–Numaligarh stretch in Assam, including a 34.45 km elevated corridor through Kaziranga National Park to ensure safe wildlife passage and improve connectivity.
- Union Minister hailed the Cabinet’s decision, highlighting that the project will be implemented in EPC mode and will protect wildlife, boost eco-tourism, and create employment by providing safer, faster, and uninterrupted travel.
- The project includes upgrading 30.22 km road, constructing 21 km bypasses, generating 15.42 lakh person-days of direct and 19.19 lakh indirect jobs, and integrating with NH-127, NH-129, SH-35, three railway stations, and three airports in Assam.

1008. Cabinet approves Rs 11,440 cr "Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses" from 2025-31
- On October 1, 2025, the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister, approved the ‘Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses’ with a ₹11,440 crore outlay to boost domestic pulse production, reduce imports, and enhance farmers’ income by 2030-31.
- Led by PM and implemented through ICAR, KVKs, state agencies, and NAFED, the Mission will enhance research, seed systems, area expansion, procurement, and distribution of improved, climate-resilient pulse varieties.
- By 2030-31, the Mission targets 310 lakh hectares under pulses, 350 lakh tonnes production, and 1130 kg/ha yield, supported by 126 lakh quintals of seeds, 88 lakh seed kits, 1000 processing units, and assured procurement of Tur, Urad, and Masoor.

1009. Gadkari clears ₹1,600 crore six-lane Nagpur–Bhandara highway project
- On 29 September, 2025, Union minister sanctioned a ₹1,600 crore six-lane highway project with 6–7 km of bridges on the Nagpur–Bhandara road, with bhoomipujan planned within four months.
- Union minister also approved a ₹150 crore cement road from Zero Mile to Automotive Square and stressed reducing travel time and improving safety across Nagpur district.
- Highlighting Ramtek’s tourism potential, Gadkari backed a ropeway, amphibian plane landings on Khindsi lake, and integrated infrastructure-tourism projects to boost the region’s economy.

1010. OIL, GAIL sign MoU to expand cooperation across gas value chain
- On 30, September, 2025, OIL and GAIL signed an MoU in the presence of MoPNG officials, including the Secretary, to enhance cooperation across India’s natural gas value chain.
- The collaboration leverages OIL’s upstream expertise and GAIL’s marketing and distribution strengths to expand natural gas access and promote cleaner energy.
- The MoU aligns with India’s vision of a gas-based economy, improving energy security, accelerating energy transition, and creating stakeholder value nationwide.
