22611. Gokaldas Exports commissions new manufacturing unit at Krishnagiri
- Gokaldas Exports Limited has commenced commercial production at a new manufacturing unit situated at No. 182/4, 182/5, 183/1, 183/2K, Thipanahalli Post, Billana Kuppam Panchayat, Vepanahhali Main Road, Krishnagiri - 635115 after successfully obtaining licenses and clearances from all the relevant stakeholders.
- On achievement of full ramp up and productivity, the unit will contribute about 3.5%to our current capacity.
- Shares of Gokaldas Exports Limited was last trading in BSE at Rs. 396.85 as compared to the previous close of Rs. 391.25. The total number of shares traded during the day was 44386 in over 2801 trades.
22612. Aditya Prasad Dash, Padma Shri Recipient Led India's War Against Malaria
- Aditya Prasad Dash, the current Vice Chancellor of Asian Institute of Public Health in Bhubaneswar who received the Padma Shri. Aditya Prasad Dash is also the former Vice Chancellor of Central University of Tamil Nadu. Also the ex-regional adviser to World Health Organization (SEARO), Prasad Dash hails from the eastern state of Odisha.
- His fields of expertise include biomedical science, transmission biology of tropical disease, and modern biology of disease vectors. According to Vidwan - the national network for researchers and experts, Professor Aditya Prasad Dash has authored 320 publications. In addition, he has co-authored 699 publications.
- For more than 35 years, Dash worked at the Institute of Life Science and Indian Council of Medical Research.
22613. Indian Railways Operates First Goods Train Upto Manipur’s Kaimai Road Railway Station; Check Photos
- In an effort to increase rail connectivity in the northeastern states, the Indian Railways ran a goods train up to the Kaimai Road railway station in Manipur.
- Bridge no.53 in the Jiribam-Imphal New Line Project has been constructed on the river Barak; the largest river of Manipur. The bridge is situated at a difficult location where the height of the tallest Piers is as high as 75m (higher than Qutub Minar).
- The total length of this rail route is close to 111 km of which at least 62 km will pass through the tunnel. The total length of all the bridges on this line is 3.5 km. There will be 10 stations on the entire railway route.
22614. MNRE to help Goa Shipyard to set up Rooftop solar power projects
- The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and Ministry of Defence join hands to set up rooftop solar projects at the building of Goa Shipyard Limited to bring down electricity cost and promote renewable energy.
- As per the MoU, the IREDA will assist GSL to set-up a rooftop solar power project at the headquarter of the company situated in Vasco da Gama, Goa. Subsequently, the IREDA would also extend its techno-commercial expertise to GSL for Environmental and Social (E&S) due diligence of rooftop solar and other RE projects as per the internationally accepted E&S standards.
- The Government has targeted to produce 40 GW of solar power through rooftop solar by the end of 2022.
22615. बाजार तक पहुंचने की राह आसान करेगा देविका नदी पर बना पुल
- शहर में यातायात व्यवस्था को सुधारने के लिए स्टेट ब्रिजेस के तहत देविका नदी पर एक नया पुल तैयार होगा। इससे शहर के बाजार तक पहुंचने के लिए शहरवासियों को वैकल्पिक मार्ग मिलेगा। इसके लिए 81 लाख रुपये मंजूर हो चुके हैं, और टेंडर भी हो चुका है। हालांकि, वन विभाग से एनओसी न मिलने के कारण काम शुरू नहीं हो पा रहा है।
- मौजूदा समय में यह एक पैदल मार्ग है। इसके इस्तेमाल से लोग कम समय में पैदल शहर तक पहुंचते हैं। लेकिन, इस पर सड़क और पुल बनने के बाद शहरवासियों के लिए बाजार तक पहुंचना आसान हो जाएगा।
- नए पुल व मार्ग को लेकर प्रयास जारी है। इसको लेकर उपायुक्त के साथ भी चर्चा की जा चुकी है। वन विभाग की तरफ से एनओसी लेना कोई बड़ी परेशानी नहीं है। लेकिन, तकनीकी खामी बड़ी परेशानी बन कर सामने आ रही है। इसका सर्वे कई वर्ष पहले किया गया था।
22616. J&K govt. to delineate smaller water bodies, canals
- the Jammu and Kashmir government on Saturday decided to delineate and demarcate smaller water streams and canals
- The decision was taken during a meeting of the Administrative Council chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha held in Jammu. The Council approved 3-tier committees mandated to conduct khasra-wise surveys of all lands recorded as such.
- Officials have been tasked with preparing maps and delineate lands that do not form part of any water course, source or annual drainage system as per spot verification,
- This will put an end to litigations pending in various courts, besides allowing owners of such lands to transact and carry out various economic, non-economic activities allowed as per land use under the Master Plans of development of local areas,”

- eFeed, a start-up plans to establish nutrition advisory centres across north-eastern districts which will drive sustainable and accountable animal husbandry.
- North-east India has a total demand of 25,000 metric tonnes of feed across Cattle, Aqua, Poultry & Piggeries, which is a huge untapped opportunity for the feed industry. In the recent past Northeast has emerged as preferred region for animal feed industry.
- Recently Assam government and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) inked an MOU to set up a joint venture company for Rs 2000 crore with the target of processing 10 lakh liters of milk through 6 new milk processing units in 7 years.

22618. Manipur gets freight train connectivity; PM says it will enhance state’s commerce.
- With the first freight train reaching Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said this will enhance the state’s commerce and connectivity as goods from there will reach all parts of the country.
- “Transformation of the Northeast continues. Manipur’s connectivity will be enhanced and commerce will be boosted. Wonderful products from the state can travel all over the nation,”

22619. Northeast economic corridor aims at improving trade with Southeast Asia, says G Kishan Reddy
- Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Friday held a meeting to discuss various developmental projects and North East Economic Corridor and said that the main aim includes economic development of the region and improvement of its trade with South East Asia.
- The Minister proposed that the Secretary of the DoNER ministry will work on creating an "inter-ministerial task force with the involvement of other ministries.
- Reddy further suggested that ADB could focus on the capacity building of non governmental sector and that he looked forward to their partnership in funding and execution to deliver the expected results in the region.

22620. Centre ensuring infra development in northeastern region through a non-lapsable pool of resources
- The broad objective of the Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) is to ensure speedy development of infrastructure in the North Eastern Region and Sikkim by increasing the flow of budgetary financing for specific viable infrastructure projects/schemes in the region.
- NLCPR is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme where the funding pattern is 90:10 (Central: State). The fund would be released/ sanctioned to the State Government in the form of 90:10. 90 % of the approved cost would be released by the Ministry of DoNER as grant. Balance 10% being state share would be contributed by the State Govt.
- Both physical and social infrastructure sectors such as Irrigation and Flood Control, Power, Roads and Bridges, Education, Health, Water Supply, and Sanitation – are considered for providing support under the Central Pool, with projects in physical infrastructure sector receiving priority.
