22201. Edtech for Bharat: How this Dell Foundation-backed startup used WhatsApp to deliver learning to 10M rural students
- Noida-based edtech startup ConveGenius went from tablet-based learning to WhatsApp chatbot-assisted learning during the pandemic.It scaled from half-a-million to 10 million students in seven months.
- In the first two years, ConveGenius focused on building a tab-based learning solution, or “personalised learning in an offline device”. The product, CG-Slate, was “well-received” in government schools, low-fee private schools, and after-school learning centres across 16 states in India.
- The Noida-based startup partnered with tablet manufacturers – Samsung and Lava – to pre-install its software, and curated content from a bunch of learning companies like Mexus Education, Pratham Books, Chippersage, and so on.

22203. Jio में हिस्सेदारी के लिए गूगल ने किया 33737 करोड़ का भुगतान, कंपनी का भारत में सबसे बड़ा निवेश
- गूगल ने रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (आरआईएल) की डिजिटल अनुषंगी जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स में 7.73 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी के एवज में 33,737 करोड़ रुपये का भुगतान कर दिया है। इसके साथ कंपनी फेसबुक जैसी वैश्विक निवेशकों की सूची में शामिल हो गयी है। उद्योगपति मुकेश अंगानी की कंपनी ने मंगलवार को एक यह जानकारी दी। गूगल का परिचालन अमेरिकी कंपनी अल्फाबेट इंक करती है। इस सौदे के साथ अमेरिकी प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनी का किसी भारतीय कंपनी में अबतक का सबसे बड़ा निवेश है।
- रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज ने केवल 11 सप्ताह में 13 वित्तीय और रणनीतिक निवेशकों को जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स की कुल मिला कर 33 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी बेचकर 1.52 लाख करोड़ रुपये की पूंजी जुटायी। इससे कंपनी मार्च 2021 के लक्ष्य से पहले ही शुद्ध रूप से कर्ज को खत्म करने में कामयाब रही। रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज ने शेयर बाजार को दी सूचना में कहा, ''सभी जरूरी मंजूरी के बाद कंपनी की अनुषंगी जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स को गूगल इंटरनेशनल एलएलसी से 33,737 करोड़ रुपये की राशि प्राप्त हुई है।''
- गूगल इंटरनेशनल एलएलसी की जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स में 7.73 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी है। गूगल और जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स सस्ता स्मार्टफोन विकिसत करने के लिये भी गठजोड़ करेगी। दोनों कंपनियों ने जुलाई में यह जानकारी दी थी। जियो प्लैटफॉर्म्स में दूरसंचार सेवा जियो के अलावा आरआईएल की ब्राडबैंड कनेक्टिविटी, बिग डेटा एनालिटिक्स और कृत्रिम मेधा (एआई) जैसी डिजिटल संपत्तियां शामिल हैं।
