- National Pollution Control Day is observed on Dec 2 every year to spread awareness about rising levels of pollution and practices to curb the same. In this story, SMBStory lists five companies who are on a mission to control rising levels of pollution.
- With the aim to make the world more sustainable and eco-friendly, Shreyans and Ramesh started Greensole in 2015 with a capital of Rs 10 lakh to recycle old pair of shoes for corporates. The brand also made a retail presence in 2019 by launching a vegan footwear range.
- According to a Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) report from 2012, India generates 15,000 tonnes of plastic a day of which 40 percent remains uncollected. This trashed-but-not-collected plastic waste adds up to land and water pollution, posing a serious threat to the environment.

- PAHCHAN scheme was launched in 2016 to provide new universal identity for artisans. PAHCHAN scheme was planned to facilitate the benefits of various schemes of Union Government to flow directly into their accounts.

- An autorickshaw driver on Wednesday helped return gold and cash-filled trolley bag to its owner, who had forgotten it at the gate of the Agra Cantt Railway Station.
- The bag was spotted by autorickshaw driver Vinod Yadav who then handed it over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) of the station. The bag contained a pair of gold bangles, a ring, a pair of anklets, and ₹ 75,000 in cash, along with clothes, said a GRP official.
- "I felt very good after returning the trolley bag as it was my duty to hand over the unattended bag to the real owner," he said. "In past as well, passengers have left their belongings, but rickshaw drivers had returned them safely,"

- देश में बागवानी फसलों की बढ़ती मांग को देखते हुए कई किसानों ने पारंपरिक खेती से हटकर फलों की खेती का रुख किया है। जानकारों के मुताबिक बागवानी में भी वो किसान ज्यादा मुनाफा कमा रहे हैं जो क्वालिटी युक्त, बाजार की मांग के अनुसार खेती करते हैं। ऐसे ही एक किसान हैं मध्य प्रदेश के राजेश पाटीदार जो जैविक तरीके से बागवानी कर रहे हैं।
- पहले मैं भी परंपरागत तरीके से आलू, प्याज और लहसुन की खेती करता था, जैसे बाकी लोग करते थे लेकिन बढ़ती लागत के कारण काफी काफी नुकसान हुआ, जिसके साल 2017 में मैंने उन्हें बंद कर दिया और बागवानी के साथ औषधीय पौधों की खेती शुरु कर दी।
- मध्य प्रदेश के 0.76 मिलियन हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में जैविक खेती की जाती है। राज्य में जैविक खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए वर्ष 2011 में जैविक कृषि नीति लागू की गई। इसके बाद इंदौर, उज्जैन, सीहोर, होशंगाबाद, नरसिंहपुर, रायसेन, भोपाल, जबलपुर, मंडला, बालघाट समेत कई जिलों के जैविक उत्पादों की देश-विदेश में मांग बढ़ने लगी।

- The government is developing a centralized mobile app to help electric vehicle (EV) users locate charging stations and book slots in advance, said two people seeking anonymity.
- The move by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) is aimed at encouraging EV adoption across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Surat, which have a population of at least 4 million.
- The scheme is an important part of the Centre’s strategy to cut vehicular emissions. Money allocated under Fame-2 will be spent to subsidize 500,000 electric three-wheelers, 1 million electric two-wheelers, 55,000 electric passenger vehicles, and 7,090 electric buses.

- गांव वालों की आजीविका को बेहतर बनाने, किसानों को मॉडर्न खेती से अवगत कराने और खेती को ऑर्गनाइज्ड सेक्टर बनाने के मकसद से राकेश ने ‘ब्रुक एन बीस’ नाम से अपने स्टार्टअप की शुरुआत की। राकेश की अनोखी पहल के कारण आज तकरीबन 80 लोकल किसान उनके साथ जुड़ कर 50 एकड़ की जमीन पर कम्युनिटी-ऑर्गेनिक फार्मिंग कर रहे हैं।
- कम्युनिटी फार्मिंग में जुड़नेवाले कुछ किसानों को हर महीने 8000 रूपए सैलरी मिलती है और कुछ किसान जिनके पास जमीन है उन्हें प्रॉफिट का 10% मिलता है। किसानों और गांव वालों की मदद के अलावा ‘ब्रुक एन बीस’ से राकेश खुद 10-12 लाख सालाना कमा रहे हैं।
- राकेश और उनकी टीम ने सिर्फ फसलों और सब्जियों के अलावा पेड़ लगाने का भी काम किया। 2020 में उन्होंने ‘बी अ ट्री’ नाम से प्रोग्राम रन किया जिससे तरत लोगों को ख़ास कर किसानों को पेड़ लगाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया। राकेश बताते हैं कि सिर्फ एक साल में ही 25 एकड़ में 3000 से ज्यादा पेड़ लगाए जा चुके हैं।

- जब इरादे बुलंद हों तो कोई भी बाधा रास्ता नहीं रोक सकती। ये कहानी अमृतसर के सोहना-मोहना पर सटीक बैठती है। दोनों जुड़वा भाइयों का शरीर धड़ से जुड़ा होने के कारण उनके माता-पिता ने भले ही छोड़ दिया पर इन दोनों ने हार नहीं मानी। एक दूसरे का सहारा बने ये भाई जिंदगी जीने के साथ ही आज सरकारी नौकरी भी कर रहे हैं।
- 10वीं तक पढ़ाई और आईटीआई की ट्रेनिंग के बाद पंजाब स्टेट पावर कार्पोरेशन में इनकी नौकरी लग गई है। इन्हें हर महीने 20,000 रुपये मिलेंगे। दरअसल, सोहना को काम मिला है और मोहना साथ में मदद करता है। दोनों भाई नौकरी का श्रेय भी ट्रस्ट को देते हैं।
- पिंगलवाड़ा ट्रस्ट की मुखिया डॉक्टर इंदरजीत कौर बताती हैं, ‘बहुत सी संस्थाएं इन्हें लेना चाहती थीं। लेकिन अस्पताल ने हमें दे दिया। जब ये बड़े हुए तो किशोर हॉस्टल में चले गए। मानसिक रूप से बहुत समझदार थे। इसलिए आज अपने पैरों पर खड़े हैं।’
