2081. Emmvee Expands Solar Production, Opens 5th Module Manufacturing Plant In Bengaluru
- On 18 April 2025 It was reported that, Emmvee, a prominent player in India’s solar manufacturing industry, had inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Sulibele, near Bengaluru International Airport in Karnataka.
- The expansion adds approximately 2.0 GWp to its existing module capacity, bringing the company’s total photovoltaic module production to about 6.6 GWp and solar cell capacity to 2.5 GWp.
- The newly launched unit spans nearly 400,000 square feet and is set to accommodate over 500 new employees, including engineering professionals, senior leadership, operations staff, and administrative personnel. With this addition, Emmvee’s total workforce, which already exceeds 2,000, will continue to grow.
2082. India cancels talks with Pakistan over Kashmir row
- India has cancelled talks with Pakistan after accusing it of interfering in India's internal affairs. It comes after Pakistan's high commissioner in Delhi consulted Kashmiri separatist leaders ahead of the talks, which were agreed in May. Pakistan described the Indian decision as a "setback".
- Pakistan's High Commissioner Abdul Basit announced plans to meet Kashmiri separatists in Delhi last week. On 18 August 2014, Indian Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh warned Mr Basit against it, saying he could either have a dialogue with India or talk with the separatists.
- India's Foreign Ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said Delhi told Mr Basit "that Pakistan's continued efforts to interfere in India's internal affairs were unacceptable". He added that the action "raises questions about Pakistan's sincerity and undermines the constructive diplomatic efforts" initiated by India.

2083. State govt clears ₹ 1,299 crore hospital dues under health schemes
- On 17 April It was reported that, The Maharashtra government has cleared dues worth ₹ 1,299 crore to hospitals empanelled under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Aarogya Yojana (MJPJAY) and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY) between March 1 and April 17, 2025.
- As per officials, the schemes earlier worked on an insurance model, and the government paid the insurance premium, and the insurance company later paid the health claim to hospitals. However, in July 2024, the scheme changed from insurance mode to assurance mode, and the state government took responsibility for paying the treatment charges.
- Dayanand Jagtap, deputy CEO of State Health Assurance Society, said, that in Maharashtra, there are 13.5 crore and 3.73 lakh families that are beneficiaries of the schemes. “The delay was there as the payment was not released by the state government due to the transition.
2084. TN Cabinet clears Space Industrial Policy 2025; eyes Rs 10,000 crore investment, 10,000 jobs
- On 17 April 2025, The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, approved the Tamil Nadu Space Industrial Policy 2025 as announced in the budget, that looks to attract Rs 10,000 crore in investment in space tech, create at least 10,000 jobs in the sector and improve talent, according to Industries Minister of India.
- Drawing inspiration from Florida’s famed Space Coast, the Tamil Nadu government may establish a ‘Space Bay’ across four southern districts—Madurai, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar—as part of the policy.
- Minister further said that the policy will reimburse 50% of the expenditure incurred by firms during the investment period for activities such as registering patents, copyrights, trademarks and geographical indicators.

2085. Article 370 Entirely an Internal Matter, Pak’s Fabricated Narratives Not Going to Change This Fact: India at UNHRC
- Indian diplomat and First Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India in Geneva Mini Devi Kumam on 13 September, 2019 lambasted Pakistan for ‘misrepresenting facts’ over Kashmir issue.
- Exercising the ‘Right of Reply’ by India against the statements made by Pakistan at 42nd UNHRC session, the Indian diplomat asserted, “We will advise Pakistan to accept the reality that Article 370 is entirely an internal matter of India. All Pakistan’s hysterical statements with false, fabricated narratives are not going to change this fact.”
- On September 10, 2019 Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while addressing the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council had said that UNHRC must not remain “indifferent” to the situation in Kashmir after India revoked Jammu and Kashmir’s special status, saying it is the repository of the world’s conscience on human rights.
- Rejecting Pakistan minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s claims of human rights violations, Indian diplomat Mini Devi Kumam stated, “History has witnessed that the people of Jammu and Kashmir as citizens of India have repeatedly reposed their faith in Indian democracy by actively participating in free and fair elections held at all levels”.

2086. Indian Railways launches private wagon scheme for oil & gas sector
- On 17 April 2025 It was reported that, The Indian Railways had readied a new private wagon scheme aimed at addressing transport requirements of the oil and gas sector.
- As per the plan, the wagons will be procured by the Railway Board on behalf of oil companies and deployed for their use, said officials. The bogie tank wagons for petroleum products (BTPN) are specifically designed for transport of bulk petroleum products.
- "The new scheme is aimed at encouraging the petroleum industry to invest in railway infrastructure," said a senior official, who did not wish to be identified. The official said public sector oil marketing companies and the private sector players that are allowed to sell petroleum products in the country can participate in the scheme.
2087. The Kashmiri diplomat who demolished Pakistani narrative on J&K
- To respond to Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement alleging human rights abuses in Kashmir, Having been the regional passport officer in Jammu and private secretary to former minister of state for external affairs V.K. Singh, Indian foreign service officer Vimarsh Aryan was chosen.
- On 10 September 2019, When Qureshi demanded that the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva set up a commission to inquire into what it termed as instances of “Indian brutality” and “gross violations of human rights” in Jammu and Kashmir since the revocation of the special status granted to the region, New Delhi decided that India’s response would be delivered by Vimarsh Aryan.
- In a carefully constructed response, Aryan demolished the Pakistani narrative by dismissing Qureshi’s statements as “an ill-disguised effort to advance its territorial ambitions”. “Pakistan realises that our recent decision cuts the very ground from under its feet by creating obstacles in its continuing sponsorship of cross-border terrorism against India,” Vimarsh Aryan said.
- Cornering Pakistan on its treatment of minorities, Aryan said: “Pakistan’s rhetoric will not distract international attention from Pakistan’s persecution and elimination of religious and ethnic minorities—be it the Christians, Sikhs, Shias, Ahmadiyas and Hindus. This is the reason that Pakistan no longer publishes official statistics about its minorities as India does.”
- “It defies credibility that Pakistan, which is the epicentre of global terrorism, is claiming to speak on behalf of unnamed countries on the issue of human rights. It forgets that terrorism is the worst form of human rights abuse,” was Aryan’s parting shot.

2088. Tata Power Solarises 230+ Public Institutions Across Maharashtra, Offsets 1.3 Lakh Tonnes CO₂
- On 18 April 2025 It was reported that, In support of the Maharashtra Government's solar initiative, Tata Power has solarized 230+ public institutions, adding 107 MW of clean energy—covering 100 hospitals (3.6 MW), 64 schools (2 MW), and 72 government buildings (100 MW).
- The installations are offsetting 1.3 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions, equivalent to planting 20 lakh trees.
- Tata Power has surpassed 1.5 lakh solar installations across India, reaffirming its position as the country’s No. 1 rooftop solar provider.
2089. 1.3GW ‘Make in India’ solarplant starts ops in Pokhran
- On 17 April 2025, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated a 1.3GW solar plant in Pokhran and cited the project as the best example of ‘Make in India' initiative as 90% of components and all the panels for the plant were manufactured in Rajasthan.
- Set up over 3,500 acres, the project developed by ReNew Power is estimated to meet the power needs of 5 lakh families in the state while creating job opportunities for 1,500 directly.
- State discoms will get power from the plant at Rs 2.18 a unit, one of the cheapest in the sector. Listing the benefits of solar power while highlighting Rajasthan's potential in the sector, Sharma said sources of green power are infinite, unlike conventional energy (thermal).
2090. India slams Pakistan at UNGA for its illicit remarks on Kashmir, intervention in internal matters
- India has slammed Pakistan for its baseless and deceitful narratives as Islamabad’s envoy here made references regarding Kashmir at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
- The minister in India’s Permanent Mission to the UN Pratik Mathur said on June 25, 2024. “Earlier in the day, the one delegation misused this forum to spread baseless and deceitful narratives which is not in surprise,”
- Pratik Mathur said I will not dignify these remarks with any response, just to save the valuable time of this august body.” His retort came after Pakistan’s UN envoy Munir Akram made references to Kashmir in his remarks from the General Assembly Podium during the debate.
- India has previously rejected Pakistan’s efforts to raise the Kashmir Issue at the International forums asserting that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will always remain an integral and inalienable part of the Republic of India and Pakistan has no locus standi to make statements and remarks regarding India’s domestic matters.
- Pakistan’s envoy Munir Akram has been slammed at various occasions, once by the former Indian Representative to the United Nations Ruchira Kamboj after he threw a jibe at PM Modi regarding surgical strikes inside Pakistan to kill terrorists who dared to launch attacks on India.
