2021. Chhattisgarh signs MoU with CMAI; aims to become new textile hub
- Chhattisgarh government on 23 April 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), marking a major step towards transforming the state into a hub for textile and apparel manufacturing.
- The MoU to set up the CMAI Textile and Apparel facilitation centre in Raipur would prove to be a milestone in boosting the textile sector in the state and open doors of opportunity for investment.
- The state cabinet has recently approved to establish the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus in Nava Raipur, a move that underlines the government's focus on skill development and design innovation in textiles.

2022. Uttar Pradesh signs MoU with Australian entity, Hinduja Group to promote renewable energy
- On 24April 2025 The Uttar Pradesh government has signed an MoU with the Smart Energy Council of Australia and Hinduja Group to generate employment in the renewable energy sector in the state.
- The MoU was signed by UP Chief Secretary who emphasized the importance of developing skilled manpower to meet the state's ambitious target of 22,000 MW solar capacity.
- The facilitate technology transfer and commercialization of advanced renewable technologies; build robust solar and green hydrogen value chains; and support bilateral investment and student exchange initiatives between India and Australia.
2023. Servotech Renewable gains on securing 4.1 MW rooftop solar order from East Coast Railway
- On 24 April 2025, it was reported that, Servotech Power Systems Ltd., had secured a significant contract for a 4.1 megawatt (MW) on-grid rooftop solar project from the Waltair Division of the East Coast Railway, located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
- The initiative is part of Indian Railways broader mission to integrate renewable energy into its infrastructure and reduce its carbon footprint, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable transportation.
- The company said this win further strengthens Servotechs growing portfolio in the public sector and showcases its capability to execute large-scale solar projects with high-quality standards and efficiency.
2024. Railways, Power, Infra, Housing: PM Modi Launches Projects Worth Over Rs 13,480 Crore In Bihar
- On 24 April 2025, Prime Minister of India launched development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore in Bihar's Madhubani.
- Addressing a public gathering after launching the projects, PM said, " on this occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, the entire country is connected with Mithila and Bihar. Today, the foundation stone and inauguration of projects worth thousands of crores of rupees related to the development of the country and Bihar have been laid here".
- In the power sector, the Prime Minister inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 5,030 crore and laid foundation stones for additional initiatives worth Rs 1,170 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme to strengthen electricity infrastructure in Bihar.
2025. Indian Navy test-fires missile amid tensions after Pahalgam attack
- The Indian Navy on 24 April 2025, said its latest indigenous guided missile destroyer INS Surat successfully shot down a fast, low-flying missile target that was skimming over the sea surface, marking another milestone in strengthening our defence capabilities.
- The missile test comes in the wake of a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 people.
- India, in a sharp diplomatic response, has taken a series of measures against Pakistan. These include the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, the closure of the integrated check post at Attari, the termination of SAARC visa exemptions, and the revocation of visas already issued to Pakistani nationals.
2026. India, Iran and Afghanistan sign Chabahar port agreement
- On 23 May 2016, India signed a historic deal to develop the strategic port of Chabahar in Iran and agreed on a three-nation pact to build a transport-and-trade corridor through Afghanistan that could help halve the time and cost of doing business with Central Asia and Europe.
- Developing the Chabahar port was seen as crucial for India because it will not only allow New Delhi to bypass Pakistan and access global markets but also counter China’s expanding influence in the Indian Ocean region.
- From Chabahar port, the existing Iranian road network can link up to Zaranj in Afghanistan. This road can then connect to the 218-km Zaranj-Delaram road -- constructed by India in 2009 at a cost of Rs 680 crore – and finally to Afghanistan’s Garland highway.

2027. India gives $20 mn funding for Djibouti Cement Plant
- On 26 April 2007, It was reported that, India has provided additional funding of 10 million dollar to Djibouti for a cement plant project at Ali Sabieh, raising the total funding to $20 million.
- This will be done through a Line of Credit (LOC) by the Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank). The LOC agreement was signed in Delhi recently by the eastern African country Ambassador to India Youssouf Omar Doualeh and Exim Bank Chief General Manager P Dalal.
- The Exim Bank of India currently has 75 lines of credit in place, covering more than 80 countries with credit commitment aggregating to USD 2.03 billion.

2028. Ghana presidency gets new palace built by India
- The amount was part of a ₹ 499.8 Crore facility from the Bharatiya government that has a 50 percent grant element, at an interest rate of 1.75 percent, repayable in 25 years
- The building’s original name was changed from Jubiliee House to Flagstaff House. Shapoorji Pallonji of India was named as contractor of the project, which started in 2006 and was completed in 2008.
- “Staff of the ministry of foreign affairs are to relocate from the administration block so that we can make a complete move to the Flagstaff House in 2013,” President Mahama said at a Christmas party over the weekend.

2029. How the Indian Housing Project is transforming lives in Sri Lanka
- In June 2010, the Indian government announced that it would construct 50,000 houses in Sri Lanka at an outlay of 33 billion LKR in three phases.
- This was part of its rehabilitation support to Sri Lanka following damage and destruction during decades of conflict in the country’s Northern and Eastern Provinces.
- A fourth phase was added to the project in 2017. Close to 46,000 houses were built in different parts of Sri Lanka under the first two phases of the Indian Housing Project (IHP).

2030. BHEL commissions hydro power plant in Rwanda
- On Dec 08 2014 State-run power equipment maker BHEL said it has commissioned a hydro power project in African country Rwanda.
- "BHEL has commissioned the 28 MW Nyaborongo Hydro Electric Project (2x14 MW) in Rwanda," a statement said.
- With the commissioning of this plant, the installed generation capacity of Rwanda has gone up by 24% from 119 MW to 147 MW.
