1451. Tesla launches its first EV charging station in India at Mumbai’s BKC
- On 4 August 2025, Tesla launched its first charging facility in India at One BKC, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai, after opening its first showroom in the city last month.
- The site includes four V4 Supercharging stalls (250 kW at ₹24/kWh) and four AC destination chargers (11 kW at ₹14/kWh), aiming to support premium EV adoption and expand Tesla’s infrastructure in Mumbai.
- Tesla will open three more charging stations by September in Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Lower Parel; Model Y deliveries begin Q3–Q4 2025; a 24,500 sq ft service centre has been leased in Kurla West.
1452. Delhi Assembly adopts E-Vidhan system, turns fully solar-powered ahead of Monsoon Session
- On August 4, 2025, The Delhi Legislative Assembly fully implemented the e-vidhan system, making its legislative processes completely paperless. All assembly documents, questions, agendas and committee reports will now be handled digitally to improve efficiency and transparency.
- Ahead of the monsoon session, the Delhi Assembly has become fully solar-powered, reducing its carbon footprint. Solar panels have been installed on the assembly building, contributing to the state's sustainability goals.
- Delhi become the first Union Territory to completely digitize its legislative proceedings. The Speaker highlighted that this transformation aligns with national goals of digitization and environmental sustainability.
1453. Massive Railway Infrastructure Push In Maharashtra: Rs 89,780 Crore Outlay For 38 Projects; Rs 39,407 Crore Spent, 2,360 Km Commissioned
- The Ministry of Railways has significantly accelerated infrastructure development in Maharashtra, with 38 major railway projects currently sanctioned across the state.
- As of March 2025, 2,360 km of this network has been commissioned, backed by a cumulative expenditure of Rs 39,407 crore, according to information provided by the Ministry of Railways.
- These include 11 new line projects, two gauge conversion efforts, and 25 doubling or multitracking projects. Together, they span a total length of 5,098 km.
- Between 2009 and 2014, the minister reported an average of 58.4 km of new railway tracks being commissioned annually, which increased to over 208 km between 2014 and 2025.
1454. Chandigarh’s solar boom: Renewable energy capacity grows 18-fold in a decade
- Over the past decade, the Chandigarh city's installed renewable energy capacity has seen a nearly 18-fold increase, rising from 5 MW in 2014–15 to 90 MW by July 2025.
- Solar power is the foundation of renewable generation in the city. As of July 2025, solar power generation plants have been installed on 10,988 buildings across the city.
- Between March 31, 2024, and March 31, 2025, the number of government buildings with solar plants installed increased from 907 to 6,627, an addition of 25 MW in one year.
- The number of private buildings with solar power plants on March 31, 2024, was 3,794. After a year, it marginally increased to 4,361, implying an addition of only 2.8 MW.
1455. Gujarat sees 50% surge in solar power, becomes India’s fastest-growing state in FY25
- As per August 03, 2025, Gujarat recorded a sharp 50 per cent surge in solar power generation in FY 2024-25, emerging as the fastest-growing state in India in terms of annual increase.
- The state generated 20,219.48 million units (MUs) of solar electricity in FY25, up from 13,468.91 MUs in FY24, according to data tabled in Parliament by the Union ministry of new and renewable energy.
- Over just two years, Gujarat nearly doubled its solar output, which stood at 10,335.32 MUs in FY23, signalling its rapid transition to renewable energy. With this performance, the state now ranks second in the country in total solar power generation, behind Rajasthan, which recorded 49,101.62 MUs in FY25.
1456. Nagaland to get 23 hostels for tribal students, 10 PM SHRI schools
- On 29 july, 2025, Union Education Minister announced the establishment of 23 new hostels for tribal students and the development of 10 PM SHRI schools in Nagaland, one per district, during the fifth anniversary celebration of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in New Delhi
- The PM SHRI (Schools for Rising India) initiative, part of a 14,500-school national network, aims to transform selected government schools into centers of excellence with enhanced infrastructure, digital learning, and NEP 2020-aligned curricula, while the 23 hostels, under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), support tribal education.
- The virtual ceremony at Bharat Mandapam, streamed live, was attended in Kohima by Advisor Kekhrielhoulie Yhome and other officials at TM Government Higher Secondary School, marking a milestone in Nagaland’s education and tribal welfare efforts.

1457. J&K achieves 96.4% digital coverage of courtrooms
- On August 2, 2025, Jammu and Kashmir achieved 96.4% digital coverage of its courtrooms under the e-Courts Mission Mode Project, with 248 of 257 courtrooms under the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh equipped with IT infrastructure, including video conferencing and electronic display systems
- The region invested ₹14.53 crore in 2024–25 for courtroom IT upgrades, up from ₹6.52 crore the previous year, as part of the ₹7,210 crore national e-Courts Phase III (2023–2027), aiming for full digitization, e-filing, cloud infrastructure, and eSewa Kendras.
- The initiative enhances transparency and accessibility in J&K’s justice system, with plans for Online Dispute Resolution and paperless courts, building on the integration of over 23,000 courts nationwide into the e-Courts platform.
1458. Naidu launches Rs 3,174-cr Annadatha scheme, deposits Rs 7,000 each to 47 lakh farmers
- On August 2, 2025, Andhra Pradesh launched the Annadatha Scheme, aimed at supporting farmers financially. Under the scheme, the state government will provide annual financial aid of ₹20,000 to each eligible farmer.
- In the first installment, ₹7,000 was directly deposited into the bank accounts of around 47 lakh farmers across the state. The remaining ₹13,000 will be released in two more phases during the year.
- The scheme is part of Naidu’s broader goal to empower farmers and improve agricultural welfare. It uses direct benefit transfer to ensure transparency and timely support, with funds transferred.
1459. PM Modi releases 20th PM-KISAN instalment; 52.16 lakh Gujarat farmer families get over ₹1,118 crore
- On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister released the 20th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme under which over ₹2,000 crore was transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible farmers across India.
- As part of this instalment, more than ₹1,118 crore was disbursed to 52.16 lakh farmer families in Gujarat, benefiting them through direct income support amid the ongoing agricultural season.
- Gujarat farmers have received ₹25,700 crore in total under the PM-KISAN scheme since its launch, reinforcing the government’s commitment to strengthening farmers’ welfare through direct benefit transfers.
1460. India performs record 18,900 transplants in 2023; ranks 3rd globally in organ donation: Health Minister
- On August 2, 2025, India achieved a historic milestone by conducting over 18,900 organ transplants in 2023, the highest ever recorded in a single year for the country. This figure includes kidney, liver, heart, lung and pancreas transplants.
- India now stands as the third highest performing country in the world in terms of the total number of organ donations and transplants, according to global health data.
- The Union Health Ministry credited recent policy reforms, simplified procedures and public awareness campaigns under the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation for this progress.
