23141. Suzuki, Hyundai looking at India as their export hub
- The automakers hope to make the most of Centre's push for local manufacturing post-Covid-19, and the subsequent incentive packages rolled out
- Suzuki is considering India as the sole production location for its popular hatchback -- Swift -- and may even discontinue manufacturing the car in Japan and other locations, two people in the know told the publication.
- To reduce dependency on Chinese imports, the Centre in November rolled out a Rs 3 lakh crore-incentive package to encourage local manufacturing, of which the biggest chunk will go to the auto sector.

23142. सॉफ्टवेयर टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क से तीसरी तिमाही में 1.20 लाख करोड़ रुपये का निर्यात होने का अनुमान
- जनवरी (भाषा) सॉफ्टवेयर टेक्नोलॉजी पार्क ऑफ इंडिया (एसटीपीआई) के अंतर्गत पंजीकृत इकाइयों का सॉफ्टवेयर निर्यात चालू वित्त वर्ष की तीसरी तिमाही में करीब 1.20 लाख करोड़ रुपये रहने का अनुमान है।
- इससे पूर्व वित्त वर्ष 2019-20 की इसी तिमाही में 1.07 लाख करोड़ रुपये के मुकाबले यह 11.7 प्रतिशत अधिक है। एसटीपीआई के आंकड़े के अनुसार इन इकाइयों का निर्यात चालू वित्त वर्ष की सितंबर तिमाही में करीब 1.21 लाख करोड़ रुपये का रहा था।

23143. नई ‘मेड-इन-इंडिया’ Hyundai i20 के एक्सपोर्ट की हुई शुरुआत, अफ्रीका, चिली और पेरू भेजी जा रही हैं 180 कारें
- कंपनी ने पिछले साल नवंबर में भारत में फोर्थ जेनरेशन के i20 मॉडल की घोषणा की थी. इसकी शोरूम कीमत 6.79 लाख से 11.17 लाख रुपये है.
- हुंडई मोटर इंडिया लिमिटेड (एचएमआईएल) ने ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ के तहत अपनी पूरी तरह नई i20 प्रीमियम हैचबैक का निर्यात शुरू कर दिया है. कंपनी ने बयान में कहा कि नई i20 की पहली 180 कारों की खेप को दक्षिण अफ्रीका, चिली और पेरू भेजा जा रहा है.

23145. Indian rice exporters start new year on a positive note as Vietnam buys after decades, Bangladesh lowers import duty
- The 100 percent broken rice is priced lower than other grades by over $50 (Rs 3,650) a tonne and India, the world’s second-largest rice producer, is the most competitive destination for rice of such a grade.
- Indian rice exporters have started the New Year on a bright note, bagging orders to ship to Vietnam, the world’s third-largest exporter, after decades and expecting to cash in on the Bangladesh government order to lower Customs duty on rice imports.
- “We have got orders to export rice to Vietnam between 50,000 tonnes and one lakh tonnes. It may not buy consistently from India,” said Rice Exporters Association (REA) president BV Krishna Rao.

23146. Exports of Basmati Rice from India increases due to high demand in European Nations

India delivered 7.5 million tons of basmati rice in 2019-20, of which 61% was sent out, procuring the nation Rs 31,025 crore, as indicated by the commerce and industry ministry.

23147. Outfits cheer as govt drops ‘halal’ meat tag
- Organisations, which have been campaigning against “halal” certification of meat, have welcomed the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) decision to remove the term from the specifications for export of red meat,
- “Not only the meat produced in country for import but meat served everywhere in India be it hotels, restaurants, trains, flights are halal meat, which is considered haram for many communities here as well as other countries,” said Harinder Sikka from Halal Niyantran Manch (Halal Regulation Forum), which had on several occasions petitioned the government to remove the term.

- वियतनाम सहित दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया के अधिकांश देश दक्षिण चीन सागर पर चीन की दबंगई को खुलेआम चुनौती दे रहे हैं। फिलीपींस तो अब चीन को साफ शब्दों में कह चुका है कि वह उसके किसी भी दुस्साहस पर उससे उसी ढंग से निपटेगा। ऐसे देशों को भारतीय मदद उन्हें और ताकतवर बनाएगी।

23149. केंद्र ने मिलों को चीनी निर्यात का कोटा किया जारी
- केंद्र सरकार ने चीनी निर्यात करने के लिए सब्सिडी की घोषणा की है। इसके अनुसार मिलों को निर्यात की जाने वाली चीनी का कोटा भी आवंटित कर दिया गया है।
- देश में चीनी 3100 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल से कम नहीं बिक सकती है लेकिन विदेश को चीनी 100 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल और सस्ती बिकेगी। पिछले साल अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर चीनी के दाम 2400 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल थे।
- सरकार ने निर्यात पर प्रति किलो चीनी पर दस रुपये की सब्सिडी देने की घोषणा की थी। यानी मिलों की चीनी 3400 रुपये प्रति क्विंटल तक मिले। इस बार भी अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में यहीं दाम हैं लेकिन सरकार ने सब्सिडी चार रुपये प्रति किलो तक कम कर दी है।

23150. India's December trade deficit widens to $15.44 billion
- India's trade deficit in goods widened to $15.44 billion in December as imports rose to $42.59 billion, pushed by a surge in gold imports, while merchandise exports were up marginally, revised data released by the government showed.
- The merchandise trade deficit was $12.49 billion in December 2019.
- The merchandise exports rose 0.14% in December from a year earlier to $27.15 billion, the data showed.
