22781. Made by IIT start-up, Amphan drones on show in kamrup
- Drones developed by a start-up at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati that has been part of anti-disaster and anti-disease drives in Bengal were showcased at the Republic Day celebration in Assam’s Kamrup district, the first time UAVs were exhibited in the Northeast.
- The show by the start-up, Drones Tech Lab (DTL), was held at the Kumar Bhaskar Barman Kshetra grounds near the Kamrup deputy commissioner’s office at Amingaon in North Guwahati to promote drone technology for the benefit of the region in the fields of disaster management, agriculture, survey and mapping, IIT Guwahati said.
- DTL’s drones were used in Bengal in the aftermath of Cyclone Amphan in 2020 to help rescue workers. They were also used to check erosion in Assam’s Majuli riverine island and during the ongoing anti-dengue drive in Calcutta, the IIT said.

22782. China hands over missing Arunachal boy to Indian Army
- Chinese Army has reportedly handed over the missing boy from Arunachal Pradesh Miram Taron to the Indian Army.
- Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday confirmed the development in a tweet. “Due procedures are being followed including the medical examination,” Kiren Rijiju said in a tweet.
- In fact, the Indian and Chinese armies had held a hotline discussion regarding the missing boy and decided to finalise the time and place for his repatriation.

- Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday urged Gauhati University to lead a start-up and innovation movement in the state and assured the institute that it will get all support from the government.
- This is the right time for the university to lead a start-up and innovation movement in the state, Sarma said there is never a shortage of capital in the state exchequer for innovative works.

22784. Ladakh: Zojila tunnel project continues despite sub-zero temperature
- Very soon Ladakh will remain connected with the country for the whole year. Out of 18 km of All Weather Zojila Tunnel, 5 km tunnel work has been completed.
- The Zojila Tunnel, very important for Ladakh, is under construction despite heavy snowfall and minus temperatures. Out of 18Km tunnel length, 5 kilometres stands completed and its first milestone completed.
- The construction company said that it has completed the first stop of the 18-km all-weather Zojila Tunnel in a record time of 14 months and the 5-km tunnel work has been completed.

- After the scrapping of J&K’s special status, the government has worked hard towards empowering women in the Union Territory.
- During the past 30 months as many as 4.5 lakh women have been made financially independent through Self-Help Groups initiative.
- For the first time in the past 70-years women have been given 15 per cent reservation in Jammu and Kashmir Police in non-gazetted cadres.
22786. Heritage tourism back in J&K after two decades; check out 15 heritage sites
- Under the heritage tourism programme, the directorate of tourism Kashmir has so far identified 15 sites in Srinagar. The sites include a number of religious shrines, archeological sites and historical places.
- The four main tourism heritage sites identified by the government are Zaina Kadal, Jamia Masjid, Hari Parbat and the Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara in Srinagar.
- During the 1990s, insurgence and political unrest in the Valley had affected almost all the sectors and the heritage tourism was also badly disrupted. However, after almost two decades the department restarted the tourism heritage in the region. On National Tourism Day on January 25, the Department of Tourism Kashmir flagged off a city tour.

- For the first time after 30 years, Tricolour was unfurled atop the Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) in city-centre Lal Chowk amid tight security.
- To commemorate Republic Day, an NGO organised flag-hoisting ceremony at Lal Chowk on Wednesday afternoon.
- It was in 1992 that senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi & Current PM Narendra Modi had hoisted the tricolour at Lal Chowk at the peak of militancy in Kashmir.

- 1. IIT खड़गपुर से मैकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग करनेवाले अजित कुमार और सागर कुमार, कहलगाँव में ‘Stepupify Labs’ के नाम से अपना एक स्टार्टअप चला रहे हैं और इसके तहत उन्होंने किसानों की मदद के लिए ‘Farm Surveillance-Cum-Animal Scare’ डिवाइस बनाया है।
- 2. यह डिवाइस आर्टिफीशियल इंटेलिजेंस तकनीक पर काम करता है। इसमें दिन और रात, दोनों समय काम करने वाला कैमरा लगा हुआ है।
- 3. यह डिवाइस बैटरी से चलती है और इसमें 12 वोल्ट की बैटरी लगी है, जिसे चार्ज किया जा सकता है।
- 4. ट्रायल में 100% तक सफलता मिलने के बाद ही इसे लॉन्च किया गया है। फिलहाल, हमें लगभग 20 किसानों से पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के लिए ‘प्री-ऑर्डर’ मिले हैं।
22789. शहरी जीवन छोड़ पहाड़ों में बनाई टिकाऊ इमारत, 100 सालों तक चलेगा यह फार्मस्टे
- 1. दिल्ली के रहनेवाले अनिल चेरुकुपल्ली और उनकी पत्नी अदिति ने शहरी जीवन छोड़, पहाड़ों में एक ऐसा फार्मस्टे बनाया, जिसकी उम्र 100 सालों से भी अधिक है। इसे बनाने में न पेड़ों को काटा गया है और न ही पहाड़ों को। इस Fagunia Farmstayघर को बनाने में करीब 2 साल लगे।
- 2. इस स्वदेशी आर्किटेक्चरल स्टाइल में दीवारों और छत को बनाने के लिए हिमालयी लैंडस्केप के स्थानीय संसाधनों, जैसे- पत्थर और लकड़ी का इस्तेमाल होता है। नींव के काम के लिए सीमेंट का एक छोटा सा हिस्सा प्राइमरी बॉन्डिंग मटेरियल के रूप में इस्तेमाल किया गया था।
- 3. बाथरूम के लिए एक सेंट्रलाइज़्ड सोलर वॉटर हीटर के साथ, सौर ऊर्जा बैकअप इन्वर्टर सिस्टम भी लगाया है, जो प्रतिदिन 5-8 यूनिट ऊर्जा उत्पन्न करता है।
22790. अब एआइ की मदद से अंधेरे में सिर्फ हुलिया देख हो जाएगी अपराधी की पहचान
- 1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) की मदद से शारीरिक बनावट के आधार पर अंधेरे में भी अपराधियों की पहचान की जा सकेगी। अभी तक जो अपराधी वेष बदलकर या मुंह ढककर बच निकलते थे, उनकी पहचान की जा सकेगी।
- 2. नोएडा की विज्ञानी डा. शिवानी वर्मा एक ऐसा सॉफ्टवेयर तैयार कर रही हैं जिसमें अगर किसी घटना की फोटो या वीडियो डाली जाए तो घटना में शामिल उस व्यक्ति की पहचान हो सकेगी जिसका ब्योरा आपराधिक रिकार्ड में दर्ज है।
- 3. यह सॉफ्टवेयर पुलिस और सुरक्षा से जुड़ी सभी संस्थाओं के लिए बहुत महत्वपूर्ण साबित होगा। इससे सुरक्षा एजेंसियों और पुलिस के लिए अपराधी की पहचान करना न केवल आसान होगा, बल्कि इसके जरिये वह अपराधियों को ट्रैक कर उन तक पहुंच भी सकेंगे।
- 4. इसका उद्देश्य है कि ज्यादा से ज्यादा अपराधियों को पकड़ा जा सके। वह इस सॉफ्टवेयर को इस तरह तैयार कर रही हैं ताकि इसे स्थापित करने में ज्यादा खर्च न आए और सामान्य कंप्यूटर में इसे इंस्टाल कर आसानी से प्रयोग किया जा सके। फिलहाल इसका माडल तैयार कर लिया गया है। (Jagran 21, June 2021) News Link
