2451. Paras Defence & Space Technologies secures Rs 142.31 crore contract from DRDO to make anti-drone laser dome
- On 21 March,2025,It was reported that, Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd has secured a ₹142.31 crore contract from DRDO's CHESS to develop a high-powered indigenous laser system for India’s most advanced anti-drone laser dome.
- To strengthen India’s self-reliance in defence (Make in India & Atmanirbhar Bharat), enhance air defence against drones and missiles, stimulate job creation, boost technological innovation, and open export opportunities.
- By developing a laser source module integrated with a beam control system on a mobile platform, designed for anti-drone/UAV and anti-missile applications. The project positions Paras Defence as South Asia's pioneer in this domain with potential access to a ₹25,000 crore market.
2452. Tata Motors begins India's first hydrogen truck trials range upto 500 kms
- On 4 March 2025 Tata Motors has commenced the trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in India, marking a significant step towards reducing emissions in long-haul freight transport.
- The project, funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aims to assess the feasibility of hydrogen as a clean fuel alternative for commercial vehicles.
- The trial was launched in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways and Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy i. It will involve 16 hydrogen-powered trucks operating on key freight corridors, including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Surat, Vadodara, Jamshedpur, and Kalinganagar. T

2453. Deoria: 2 roads built at Rs14cr inaugurated
- On 2 March, 2025, the newly-constructed roads were inaugurated by Sadar MP , while Agriculture Minister presided over the event.
- The first road, stretching 6.60 km from Dhoos Deoria to Shahpur Shukla Anand Nagar, was completed at a cost of Rs 6.36 crore.
- Agriculture Minister highlighted the progress made under the double-engine govt, stating that quality roads reflect a development-driven mindset. He reiterated the govt's commitment to providing essential amenities to the public.

2454. With a revenue of over Rs 26,600 crore IRFC becomes India's third-largest government NBFC
- On 5 March 2025 With a revenue of over Rs 26,600 crore and a profit after tax exceeding Rs 6,400 crore as of March 31, 2024,
- Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), a key financial institution under the Ministry of Railways, becomes India's third-largest government NBFC.
- IRFC has played a key role in funding nearly 80 per cent of Indian Railways' rolling stock and was the first CPSE to issue a 30-year tenor bond in overseas markets.
2455. Indian Army Launches White Water Rafting Expedition On Siyom River
- 0n 4 March 2025 Indian Army has flagged off a white-water rafting expedition on the Siyom River, featuring 25 participants from the force.
- The expedition, covering a 160 km stretch from Thumbin to Pasighat, will take place from March 3 to 6, 2025.
- The initiative aims to enhance adventure tourism in Arunachal while strengthening camaraderie and resilience among the participants.
2456. India ranks 4th globally with 85,698 super rich, behind US, China and Japan
- On 5 march 2025 India has emerged as a leading global wealth hub, with a current population of 85,698 High Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), placing it fourth globally, behind only the US, China, and Japan, according to the latest Global Wealth report by property consulting firm Knight Frank.
- According to the latest wealth report, the number of HNWIs—defined as individuals with at least US$1 million in investable assets—rose by 4.4% globally in 2024, reaching over 2.3 million people
- The population of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), those with assets exceeding US$100 million, surpassed 100,000 for the first time, reflecting a broader trend of growing wealth across the world.

2457. DRDO conducts high-altitude trials of integrated life-support system for pilots onboard Tejas jets
- On 5 march 2025 The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted high-altitude trials of an indigenous life support system for pilots onboard Tejas light combat aircraft.
- The Defence Bio-Engineering & Electro Medical Laboratory, a Bengaluru-based lab under the DRDO successfully conducted high-altitude trials of the Indigenous On-Board Oxygen Generating System (OBOGS)-based Integrated Life Support System (ILSS) for the LCA Tejas aircraft .
- The ILSS underwent rigorous testing on the LCA-prototype vehicle-3 aircraft of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) meeting stringent aeromedical standards in varied flight conditions, including altitudes of up to 50,000 feet above mean sea level and high-G maneuvers,
2458. MoRTH Releases Rs 1,500 Crore for NHAI Projects in Northeast
- On 3 March,2025, It was reported that, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has allocated and released Rs 1,500 crore to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for projects under National Highways (Original)-NE during the Financial Year 2024-25.
- According to a communiqué from MoRTH, the fund has been released under the NH(O)-NE Scheme to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for NH works entrusted to NHAI during the current financial year.
- The communiqué further stated that the total Budget Estimates (BE) provision under NH(O)-NE for the financial year 2024-25 is Rs 14,830 crore, out of which an amount of Rs. 10,905 crore has been allocated.
2459. Solar Industries India bags order worth Rs 239 cr from Ministry of Defence
- On 4 March 2025 Solar Industries India announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Solar Defence and Aerospace, has signed a contract worth Rs 239 crore with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for the supply of multi-mode handgrenade.
- The project involves the supply of multi-mode handgrenades for the Ministry of Defence, to be completed within 2025

2460. Air India Express launches Hindon flights, eyes London connectivity
- On 1 March,2025, Air India Express operated its first Kolkata-Hindon-Goa flight, making its 180-seater Boeing 737 MAX the biggest passenger aircraft to operate from this defence enclave.
- While inaugurating the service, Union aviation minister K Rammohan Naidu said, "One day, I hope to see Hindon to London flights." The direct connectivity from western UP's Hindon comes months before the Noida International Airport at Greater Noida's Jewar becomes operational later this summer.
- The services from Hindon will complement our extensive operations from IGI Airport, from where we serve 18 domestic and four international destinations."
