41. Bihar Signs MoU With Tiger Analytics For Mega AI Centre
- The Government of Bihar has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tiger Analytics to establish a Mega Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence in the state, as part of efforts to position Bihar as a key contributor to India’s expanding AI ecosystem.
- The agreement was formalised at the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Officials said the centre would focus on talent development, applied research and adoption of AI across public systems.
- The proposed AI Centre of Excellence will be developed in collaboration with IIT Patna as a knowledge partner, alongside other ecosystem stakeholders. The initiative is aimed at building research capacity and expanding AI infrastructure within the state, while supporting the deployment of AI tools in governance and citizen services.
42. Minister Solomon concludes successful visit to Republic of India, strengthening ties to advance new partnerships in AI and digital innovation Français
- Canada strengthens its capabilities at home, the government is also deepening partnerships with high-growth economies abroad to drive investment, scale innovation and create jobs.
- The Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario, concluded a successful trip to India, where he attended the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
- During the summit, Minister Solomon held bilateral meetings with global political leaders and senior technology executives to advance cooperation on AI-driven economic growth, trusted deployment and cross-border investment.
- The signing of two memoranda of understanding (MOU) between the University of Waterloo and Tata Consultancy Services, as well as with upGrad. These signings reflect the broad trend toward deepening academic and commercial ties between the two countries, with 8 Canadian universities advancing 11 MOUs with Indian partners.
43. Cabinet approves extension of Jal Jeevan Mission up to December 2028 with enhanced outlay
- On March 10, 2026, the Union Cabinet in New Delhi approved the extension of the Jal Jeevan Mission until December 2028 with an enhanced outlay to strengthen rural drinking water supply across India.
- The Government of India, through the Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister of india, approved the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s proposal to restructure the mission, shifting focus from infrastructure creation to sustainable service delivery and improved drinking water governance.
- The mission’s total outlay increased to about ₹8.69 lakh crore and aims to ensure sustainable rural piped drinking water supply, supporting long-term access to safe water and strengthening institutional systems for rural households.
44. Assam records highest green cover along national highways: NHAI
- On March 9, 2026, the National Highways Authority of India reported that Assam recorded the highest green cover along national highways in India under the newly released National Highways Green Cover Index (NH-GCI)
- The National Highways Authority of India, in collaboration with the National Remote Sensing Centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation, used satellite-based monitoring and NDVI analysis to scientifically measure vegetation cover along highway corridors.
- The NH-GCI assessed about 30,000 km of national highways across 24 states, measuring vegetation at 1-km intervals. Gujarat, Telangana, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra followed Assam in green cover rankings along highway stretches.

45. Bihar CM launches ₹542-crore tunnel project linking 2 museums
- On March 9, 2026, Bihar Chief Minister launched the construction of a ₹542-crore underground tunnel that will connect the Bihar Museum and Patna Museum, officials said.
- Statement issued by the CMO, officials briefed the chief minister on the construction process and the proposed time-frame for completion.
- The Bihar Museum, where Director General Anjani Kumar Singh briefed him on newly installed exhibits, visitor statistics, parking arrangements and other facilities available at the museum complex.

46. Delhi mayor launches 'Malba portal' to streamline management of construction waste
- On March 9, 2026, Mayor launched a portal aimed at streamlining the collection and disposal of construction and demolition (C-D) waste in the national capital and curbing illegal dumping that contributes to pollution.
- The 'Malba portal', developed by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, will allow citizens, contractors, developers and government agencies to request the pickup of construction waste through an online interface or QR code, according to an official statement.
- the initiative will help ensure scientific management of C-D waste and prepare the city for the implementation of the C-D Waste Management Rules, 2025, which will come into force from April 1 , 2026 this year,

47. 1,254 of 1,309 PMGSY roads completed in Arunachal: Minister
- On March 9, 2026, Arunachal Pradesh Rural Works Department (RWD) Minister informed the Assembly that 1,254 out of the 1,309 roads sanctioned for the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), have been completed.
- The minister further said that the state's rugged and mountainous terrain poses additional challenges, including landslides, heavy rainfall and other natural factors.
- Road projects are also being taken up under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive State Rural Development Programme (CMCSRDP) as a stop-gap arrangement to improve rural connectivity.

48. Centre sanctions Rs 650.42 crore for upgrading NH-754K stretch in Gujarat’s Kutch district
- Un March 10, 2026, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister approved a Rs 650.42 crore project to develop a key highway corridor in Kutch district aimed at improving connectivity across the remote region of Gujarat.
- The project involves the construction of the 165.58-kilometre Lakhpat–Gaduli–Jara–Hajipir–Khavda–Kandavan–Dholavira section of National Highway-754K as a two-lane road with paved shoulder configuration.
- The corridor runs through several sparsely populated areas of Kutch and is expected to play a significant role in improving mobility and transport infrastructure in the district.

50. Historic milestone: VOC Port handles 147 windmill blades from a single vessel, the highest in India
- On march 9, 2026, VO Chidambaranar Port Authority has achieved a new milestone in renewable energy cargo by handling 147 windmill blades and accessories.
- This marks the highest volume of windmill blades handled in a single vessel at any Port in India. Incidentally, this surpasses the previous record of 103 windmill blades handled by VOC Port on November 21, 2025, reinforcing its growing role in supporting India's green energy initiatives,
- The vessel MV. Bo Run Jiu Zhou, loaded with 147 windmill blades, each measuring 76m in length, arrived from the Port of Qinzhou, China, on 03.03.2026 and completed the discharge on 08.03.2026.
