- Microsoft outlined a five-part plan to ensure wider AI adoption across emerging economies. - India features prominently in Microsoft’s AI expansion plans. The company said it will train 5.6 million people in India in 2025 and aims to equip 20 million Indians with AI skills by 2030. This includes students, developers, and working professionals.

- Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced a proposed venture with NVIDIA to build sovereign, scalable gigawatt (GW)-scale AI factory infrastructure, to reinforce India as a global AI powerhouse.
- This partnership, announced at the AI Impact Summit, is aimed at India’s enterprises, policymakers, industry leaders, global off-takers and analysts seeking production-grade AI capacity anchored in India’s digital and industrial transformation.
- The venture will scale NVIDIA GPU cluster deployment at its Chennai DC up to 30 MW capacity in its 300 acres gigawatt-scalable campus and at the new 40 MW data centre in Mumbai currently under execution.
- While it was not immediately clear the total investment that L&T is investing in this but according to industry sources a 250 MW data centre it costs approximately $9 - 10 billion.

- Qualcomm has announced plans to invest up to USD 150 million to support India’s rapidly growing artificial intelligence and technology startup ecosystem.
- The investment will be deployed through Qualcomm Ventures and will fund startups at various stages, with a strong focus on AI applications in automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and mobile technologies.
- The announcement was made as Qualcomm President and CEO Cristiano Amon participated in the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, highlighting the company’s continued engagement with India’s technology sector.
- Qualcomm has been investing in India’s startup ecosystem since 2007 and has backed more than 40 companies. Its portfolio includes major players such as Reliance Jio, MapmyIndia, ideaForge, Shadowfax, Cavli Wireless, SpotDraft, and ToneTag.

- Making a 'bold' bet on India's AI prowess, billionaire Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio together with Reliance Industries will invest Rs 10 lakh crore in artificial intelligence over the next seven years.
- Jio Intelligence will build India’s sovereign compute infrastructure through three key initiatives, Mukesh Ambani said. “One, gigawatt-scale data centres. Reliance have already started constructing multi-gigawatt AI-ready data centres at Jamnagar.
- Over 120 megawatts will come online in the second half of 2026, paving a clear path to gigawatt-scale compute for AI training and large-scale inference. Two, our green energy advantage. We have up to 10 gigawatts of ready green power surplus, anchored by solar in Kutch and Andhra Pradesh.

- Calling the AI Impact Summit a “landmark moment for India’s global leadership in Artificial Intelligence”, IT Minister (February 20, 2026) said the summit attracted $250 billion investments in AI infrastructure and saw more than five lakh visitors.
- Delhi Declaration’ for AI among several countries will be unveiled on Saturday (February 21, 2026). Over 70 countries have signed it, he said, adding that he hoped to surpass the tally achieved in Paris last year at the AI Action Summit. Ministerial delegations from some countries are still taking a call on signing the pact.

- On March 6, 2026, Indian Potash Limited signed an MoU with the Government of Odisha in Odisha, India, to revive and modernise the long-closed Badamba Cooperative Sugar Mill with an estimated ₹360-crore investment
- Indian Potash Limited, led by Managing Director P. S. Gahlaut, will implement the revival with support from the Odisha government, leasing 112 acres of land and undertaking technical and financial feasibility studies with cooperative and financial agencies.
- The revived mill in Cuttack district’s Badamba block will have 3,500 tonnes-per-day crushing capacity, a 16-MW cogeneration power plant, 10-TPD Bio-CNG plant, and cold storage, expected to benefit about 10,000 farmers and revive sugarcane cultivation.
