1. BMRCL signs Rs 40 cr deal for DRDO sports complex station
- On 30 March 2026, Avantel secured a ₹459.9 crore contract in India to supply and maintain RTIS devices for the Centre for Railway Information Systems under Indian Railways.
- Avantel Limited received the contract from Zetwerk, partnering with Indian Railways to deploy 12,000 RTIS devices using ISRO-developed satellite technology, including supply and annual maintenance over three years.
- RTIS enables real-time tracking of train location, speed, and timings, enhancing operational efficiency; the project includes installation, AMC support, and strengthens digital railway infrastructure and communication systems.
2. BMRCL signs Rs 40 cr deal for DRDO sports complex station
- On March 30, 2026, BMRCL has partnered with Bagmane Developers to build the DRDO Sports Complex Metro Station on the ORR Blue Line, with a ₹40 crore investment in exchange for 20-year naming rights, while the agreement excludes advertising and commercial benefits.
- The 19.75 km ORR corridor with 17 stations is part of the larger 58 km Blue Line project aimed at easing congestion on key IT and airport routes, with phased openings planned between 2026 and 2027.

3. Haveus Aerotech To Invest Rs 450 Crore In ATR Aircraft MRO Facility Under New MoU With Karnataka Government
- On March 29, 2026, it was reported that, Haveus Aerotech has signed an MoU with the Karnataka government to set up a ₹450 crore MRO facility for ATR aircraft, with state support for approvals, incentives, and project execution within a defined timeline.
- The proposed centre will handle specialised maintenance of key aircraft components like radomes, nacelles, landing gear, and APUs, strengthening India’s aviation maintenance capabilities.

4. India's PLI schemes attract over Rs 2.16 lakh crore investment, generate 14.39 lakh jobs
- On March 29, 2026 it was reported tha, PLI schemes have driven large-scale economic impact by attracting over ₹2.16 lakh crore in investments and generating production worth ₹20.41 lakh crore, strengthening domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.
- They have significantly boosted employment, creating around 14.39 lakh jobs across sectors, marking a sharp rise from earlier levels and contributing to both direct and indirect job opportunities
- The initiative spans 14 key sectors and, along with programs like Make in India, NICDP, and ELI schemes, is enhancing industrial capacity, export growth, and India’s long-term economic competitivenes

5. Centre increases guaranteed rural employment to 125 days under livelihood schemes
- Union Minister of State for Rural Development announced an increase in guaranteed rural employment from 100 to 125 days during a special discussion on the ‘Vikasit Bharat Mission-Guarantee for Rojgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-GRAM G)’ at the Integrated District Commissioner’s Office in Majuli, Assam on February 25.
- The reforms introduced by the Central government to enhance transparency and benefits in rural employment schemes under the ‘Vikasit Bharat’ initiative.
- The government has made provisions to temporarily suspend certain works for up to 60 days, allowing workers to engage in agricultural activities and local rural work. This will benefit both farmers and labourers while creating additional employment opportunities.”
- Workers currently receive a daily wage of ₹256, which is linked to the Labour Index Price to facilitate automatic adjustments for inflation. To prevent irregularities and enhance transparency, mandatory KYC verification for workers before registration has been introduced, ensuring wages are directly credited to bank accounts and eliminating fraud risks.

6. Meghalaya CM launches 'CM Elevate' program to address youth unemployment
- Meghalaya Chief Minister over 70,000 youth enter the workforce every year and it was imperative on the Government to design policy that would enable them to be absorbed in the ‘job market’.
- Launching the flagship programme – CM Elevate at Jowai in presence of MLAs Wailadmiki Shylla and Santa Mary Shylla, the Chief Minister said that Government has envisaged the programme to encourage and leverage entrepreneurial activities by supporting 20,000 beneficiaries with a whopping amount of Rs. 300 crore.
- Under CM – Elevate, interested entrepreneurs can apply for different ventures that would promote tourism, agriculture, entertainment and other social sectors. Under the scheme, the State Government would provide grant and subsidy of upto 75 percent and rest will be linked through bank loan.
