22951. India to get Swedish anti-armour weapon capable of hitting enemy tanks, choppers from confined spaces
- The Indian Army and the Indian Air Force are all set to get a new anti-armour weapon that can be used to hit enemy tanks, armoured vehicles, helicopters and landing craft. Swedish giant Saab will provide the weapon to India.
- "AT4 weapon has been selected by the Indian Armed Forces through a competitive programme for a single-shot weapon. AT4 will be used by the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force," a statement from Saab said.
- SINGLE SHOT WEAPON SYSTEM A single shot weapon system, soldieries can place these on their shoulders and fire. It weighs 9 kg and has a range of 200 metres. Its 84 mm calibre warhead offers enhanced power and performance.

22952. Global corporate funding in solar sector nearly doubles to $27.8 billion in 2021: Mercom Capital
- The global solar sector has witnessed total corporate funding of USD 27.8 billion in 2021, the highest in the last 10 years, according to Mercom Capital Group.
- Corporate funding includes venture capital and private equity (VC), debt financing, and public market financing. In its latest report, the global clean energy consulting firm said the total worldwide corporate funding in the solar sector in January-December 2021 soared to USD 27.8 billion compared to USD 14.5 billion raised in 2020. Corporate funding in 2021 was the highest in ten years.
- Mercom Capital Group CEO Raj Prabhu said 2021 was the best year for solar corporate funding and mergers and acquisitions since 2010. Financing activity bounced back strongly, following a COVID-19-affected 2020.

22953. DRDO and Indian Air Force successfully flight-test Long Range Bomb
- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Air Force have jointly flight tested indigenously developed Long-Range Bomb successfully from an aerial platform.
- The Long-Range Bomb after release from the IAF fighter aircraft, guided to a land-based target at a long range with accuracy within specified limits. All the mission objectives were successfully met.
- The flight of the bomb and the performance was monitored by a number of range sensors including Electro-Optical Tracking System, Telemetry and radar deployed by the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur in Odisha.
22954. Gaganyaan: Vikas engine completes 25-sec test, 3 more to go
- The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Thursday said it successfully completed a 25-seconds qualification test of the high thrust Vikas engine for the Gaganyaan programme at the Isro Propulsion Complex (IPRC) at Mahendragiri in Tamil Nadu.
- With regard to the Vikas engine qualification for the Gaganyaan programme, two engines have already undergone tests under nominal operating conditions for a total duration of 480 seconds. The test carried out today is to verify the robustness of the engine by operating beyond its nominal operating conditions (fuel-oxidiser ratio and chamber pressure)
- Further, three more tests are planned for a cumulative duration of 75 seconds under varying operating conditions. Subsequently, another high thrust Vikas engine will undergo a long-duration test for 240 seconds to complete the Vikas engine qualification for Gaganyaan programme
22955. IIT Kanpur Engineer Built Cheap Cold Storage Device To Reduce Farmer's Losses
- An IIT-Kanpur-incubated startup has developed a cost-effective way of extending the life of the perishable produce, using cold storage that farmers or vegetable vendors can set up effortlessly anywhere and save their products from going bad.
- The product is called SaptKrishi Sabjikothi which is essentially a microclimate storage for fruits and vegetables that is also portable enough to be mounted on hand carts, trucks, e-rickshaws etc.
- The innovator behind this is Nikky Kumar Jha, an IIT-Kanpur Alumni, who claims that this microclimate storage solution can extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables between five to 30 days.
22956. देश में अब तक 18 करोड 70 लाख से अधिक कोविड टीके लगाए गए
- देश में अब तक 18 करोड 70 लाख से अधिक कोविड टीके लगाये जा चुके हैं। इनमें 96 लाख 85 हजार से अधिक स्वास्थ्यकर्मियों को टीके की पहली डोज और 66 लाख 67 हजार से अधिक को दूसरी डोज शामिल हैं।
- एक करोड 86 लाख से अधिक अग्रिम पंक्ति के कार्यकर्ताओं को पहली डोज और 82 लाख से अधिक को दूसरी डोज लगाई जा चुकी है।
- मंत्रालय ने बताया कि 60 वर्ष से ऊपर के पांच करोड 49 लाख से अधिक लोगों को पहली डोज और एक करोड 80 लाख से अधिक को दूसरी डोज लगायी गयी है।
22957. Relief in the offing for Nagaland’s power consumers
- North Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP) Tranche -1, the new projects were inaugurated under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which is the Government of India’s initiative to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence.
- The Power department will be able to provide uninterrupted power supply, and urged the people to generously donate land for similar development projects.
- The total project/package cost for the entire works was Rs 141.7 crore.

22958. Centre give high priority for quality projects in border areas.
- Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu had a meeting with the top brass of security agencies and senior state government officials at Raj Bhavan to discuss the ongoing infrastructure projects in the border areas of the State.
- The Governor emphasised on close monitoring and unhindered progress of the developmental projects in the State. He further stressed on speedy construction of roads in the State considering the early arrival of monsoon over the State and limited rain free working period availability.
- Governor and the Chief Minister also discussed the starting of the State University at Pasighat in East Siang district and general improvement in the education system in the State.

22959. Rs 40 cr outlay earmarked for dairy and sheep units in tribal areas in J&K
- Tribal Affairs department has earmarked Rs 40 crore for dairy farms and sheep farms in tribal villages, while an outlay of Rs 15 crore has been earmarked for mini sheep farms.
- Around 750 mini Sheep Farms have been established in various districts including Reasi, Doda, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Srinagar and Shopian in Kashmir.
- This will benefit a population of 3,000.
22960. भारतीय नौसेना ने मौजूदा ऑक्सीजन संकट को कम करने के लिए ओआरएस तैयार की
- भारतीय नौसेना ने मौजूदा ऑक्सीजन संकट को कम करने के लिए ऑक्सीजन पुनर्चक्र प्रणाली यानी ओआरएस तैयार की है। नौसेना के दक्षिणी कमान के डाइविंग स्कूल ने मौजूदा ऑक्सीजन की कमी को दूर करने के लिए इस तरह की प्रणाली संबंधी अवधारणा और डिजाइन को तैयार किया है। यह मौजूदा मेडिकल ऑक्सीजन सिलेंडरों के क्षमता को दो से चार गुना बढ़ाने के लिए तैयार किया गया है।
- इस तथ्य का इस्तेमाल करते हुए यह जानकारी सामने आई है कि एक रोगी द्वारा नाक से ली गई ऑक्सीजन का केवल एक छोटा सा प्रतिशत फेफड़ों द्वारा खीचा जाता है और बाकी को कार्बन-डाइऑक्साइड के साथ बाहर निकाला जाता है।
- रक्षा मंत्रालय ने बयान में कहा कि मौजूदा दिशा-निर्देशों के अनुसार, नैदानिक परीक्षणों के लिए इस प्रणाली को आगे बढ़ाया जा रहा है, जिसके तेजी से पूरा होने की उम्मीद है। इसके बाद देश में बड़े पैमाने पर उत्पादन स्वतंत्र रूप से शुरू हो जायेगा। इसमें कहा गया है कि ओआरएस में इस्तेमाल होने वाले सभी घटक स्वदेशी हैं और देश में अच्छे खासे मौजूद हैं। ओआरएस प्रोटोटाइप की कुल लागत 10 हजार रुपये रखी गई है, जबकि ऑक्सीजन के पुनर्चक्र के कारण रोजाना 3 हजार रुपये की बचत सोची गई है।
